Terrible weekend of fishin in Blue Ridge. I think I've figured out why. Some guys from a neighboring county were down in the river and 2 guys from FL came through and said they've been having a lot of luck. They're using 3-4 hooks on a single line, which is completely legal, and they're catching several fish at a time. The limit on trout is 8 per day. The guys from the neighboring county got em to tell em what they've been doing...they're filling up 2 coolers full of fish, they said about 90 fish per cooler. Then they take them back to FL and sell them. They're doing it every week to ever other week. Pisses me off. Luckily, I'm really good friends with our local game warden, so he'll be hearing from me Monday. I hope those cocksuckers get put in jail. Sorry...just had to vent.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I love when people boast about "poaching". How dumb are you to tell a complete stranger that you are illegally taking more than your limit?

I hope your buddy "takes care of them":D

Im not sure if its either. It looks to be missing the bug eyes and the dorsal fin unless its folded down and walley and sauger dont typically have barring.

gotta love the teeth. Sometimes they have barring but the one pictured doesnt have the bug eyes. I never said I was right but the picture isnt the best for id'ing the sucker. Now all this talk about walleye is making me hungry

I had never caught one until they drained the lake to work on it...then started catching them like crazy down in the river. Trout fishin with ultralight gear and hang into a 6 lb walleye (biggest one I caught)...that's a lot of fun.

I have never seen either in real life so I wouldn't know. On Monday me and one of the guys from work went fishing. He caught a small mouth bass...... it took me a while to figure out what it was........... again never saw one in real life.
