First time flounder fishing yesterday. I was out there for 5 hours until I finally caught a 20-22 inch flounder. I lost it while I was pulling it up. My hook came undone. Rookie move... I actually screamed and everyone around me was staring.

Rigged my line back up, threw it out there and caught this 18 incher. Kind of proud, but still extremely depressed... Galveston, TXIMG_20191124_131402.jpg

Took some PTO today and Friday, fished outgoing tide at Robert moses inlet and stopped counting after 20 fish. No keepers but fun as hell all on tins. Hopefully Friday will not be too windy

Awesome! Black drum is on my bucket list of Florida fish. I'll be down in January. I might finally hire a charter this year. I'll be in the Lee County area fishing off of piers and bridges and the Sanibel causeway every chance I get. Any tips on the black drum?

Nice flounder! Those are such unusual fish. And delicious!:hungry:

I caught this bass today at Lake Hamilton in AR, pretty sure it was a spotted bass which would be my first. I know I look pretty excited for a small fish but today was a grind and I was glad I didn't get skunked lol.

The water has finally cooled off (74 deg) and the Black Drum are swimming thick off the beach along with Pompano and Redfish. I'm just using a 30# fluorocarbon double drop Pompano leader w/ 2/0 circle hooks baited with fresh dead peeled shrimp. It doesn't hurt to tip the hooks w/ shrimp flavored Fishbites (I like the pink ones). Just toss out into a dark trough and wait. The bigger ones we caught are fun to catch off the beach, but are usually filled with worms. Even though we're allowed to keep 1 over slot, we always release the bigger ones to fight another day.

Thanks a lot, I've been loving it. You guys are hogging all the nice lakes, my wife and I camped at lake Degray a couple days ago and it was amazing.
