    Thanks, gotcha lol

I was with a guide…he actually tagged it. Small microchip injection near the base of the head. Next time this fish is caught, if they are able to scan it, it will tell them my name, date I caught it, length, estimated weight and age. Their name can be added to the chip with all the new details etc to act as a log for this fish. It’s actually pretty cool. We caught 4 sturgeon that day and one had a chip in it already. These fish are endangered and are for catch and release only where I live. We were unable to weigh it as fish this size will die if taken out of the water. I think he said 4’ and under can be lifted out of water. Sorry don’t know a whole lot about it but was pretty fucking awesome and can’t wait to do it again!

Right on. I'm a wildlife/fisheries biologist, and we tag steelhead/rainbows and have pit tag stations we run. We also scan all the fish we catch (we e-fish) hoping for a recapture for the reason you mentioned. Fisherman down here can't tag fish (without endangered species permits), nor would they be carrying readers, so its interesting that guides up there can. Definitely increases your sample size up there. Thanks

All good awesome, yeah most of the guided fisheries up here are part of protecting and educating of the endangered species here. Was super cool that why I want to do it again! They were great!

Thanks man! They are common fish caught in the rivers and creeks, especially this time of the year (early spring) when they spawn and start running and feeding. They are smaller then large mouth bass, but fight really hard and good eaten fish

Another baby bass and a few bluegill. I'm taking the boy out to the pond for a day to hunt bluegill and have a fish fry. I cant tell you how many bluegill I've caught in my life and never eaten one. Cant wait to fry up some crispies!

They are even better if you convince someone else to clean them for you.

Haha, good point. I'm going to ruin almost all nutritional value by soaking them in a beer batter and deep frying them. Just need to get all the stuff at the store and it's going to be a good dinner later this week.

Here's a bunch more fish that just wouldn't react to anything I tried.

First pompano of the season in NE FL. They’re still down near NSB thick right now but if these south winds keep pushing that warm gulf water north they’ll be here any day in numbers!
