Went on a nearshore trip with ChumSlickers guide service back on 04/27/2021 out of Bokeelia, FL and had a blast!

    We caught fish all day!
Took home 1 Cobia, 1 Kingfish & 2 Mangrove Snappers. The fresh King was the best sashimi ever.

I always thought live wells worked better if they had water in them...

I always drain the livewell, cut all the gills and refill/drain the livewell on the way back to shore. Gets the fish bled out nicely and the livewall is clean by the time you drain it at the dock.

Results. I went out and my fishfinder failed me because salt water and corroded connections. Anyway, I know my way around, and still caught 3 big eyes.

I rigged the smallest one at the peak high tide. Got a nice strike in the pre dawn light. Caught and released this 20#ish Giant Trevally

Went out near the Louisiana coast Saturday and caught some brackish marsh bass, and my friend caught some redfish. Had a blast.

Finished up our vacation on Saginaw Bay. Beach house with a few short steps down to the sand. A boat lift 20 feet off shore in about 3 feet of water yielded some great largemouth and rock bass every day. 3 personal bests were caught. I'm stoked.

Repost from the fly fishing thread

Nothing big recently but the cicada fly has been producing a lot of action.

Heading to Charleston next week for a short vacation. Got a buddy that lives there and will hopefully be meeting up with him at least one day to go chase some redfish.
