Had to Google “click pawl”, lol, yes I’m used to it. The only reel I’ve used for the past 12 years is similar.
TBH I’ve never used the drag whilst fly fishing, I always bring the fish in with a tangled mess of line behind me o_O

Question to the fly fisherman out there…

I have an old spool of sinker line that hasn’t seen the light of day in a dozen years. It seems to be structurally sound, not dry or cracked and it can withstand all the power my noodley arms without snapping.

Any reason why I shouldn’t be able to use it?

    Cheers!

Caught some decent Scup (AkA Porgies), this morning. Strong little fighters and excellent tableware. Very under rated, and under appreciated fish, by many but not all.
Also kept a couple of Sea Robins, which is a first for me.

Cooked a delicious dinner. And, ate Sea Robin for the first time - it was pretty good !

Also caught numerous short Black Sea Bass, including one that was 1/2” under the 16” minimum size requirement.

Fun morning and delicious dinner !

I wasn’t having much success in the surf. I caught an 18” sand shark and used it as live bait and landed this 4’ Brown shark…

New video up on my channel if you're interested. I'm primarily kayak fishing on Lake Erie for walleye and steelhead, but catfish, drum, and bass are always on the menu! Thanks!

Went out August 27th about 2 miles east of Port Everglades inlet in Fort Lauderdale and caught my first billfish! A sailfish about 55 inches and a fight lasting about 25 min caught on fresh-cut Bonita we were catching all morning. Didn’t bring it aboard as we had a full boat and I’ve seen first-hand what that bill can do to body parts lol

Correct and thanks! These billfish die quicker than most out of water. Federally illegal to keep, so why kill a fish for no reason?

My first time fishing a Flat Fall Butterfly Jig. The fish we all over it. Caught Black Sea Bass and Scup in Fishers Island Sound, NY. I plan on giving this lure some more fishing time.

Any other folks here using this type of jig ?

Sorry, no fish photos, but here’s the lure. EE71EC61-BC3F-4A05-AE82-B77E54E34B3B.jpg
