Okay not a new picture but one of my absolute favorites. Now that they are all grown up I find myself missing them but am thankful for these memories.

The long hot summer made for miserable fishing days. My favorite time of year to fish is fall, and my son now knows why. Proud dad moment, got him on his new personal best bass today, 5.35 lbs, and he's super proud. Arrived at 7am, still dark, 42° and hands freezing and he loved every second of it.

 

Big blues and slot sized reds at Ocracoke last night and today.

Awesome bluefish, we don't see 'em that big down here in FL often but I remember catching them like that in VA

 

This happened in my backyard fishery. I have friends who competed against these jokers in that LEWT. I competed against them last year in the Walleye Slam. One took first place and won the Ranger boat, the other took 10th. I'm glad they are banned.

 

It's October and the steelhead have started their annual journey from the depths of Lake Erie into the streams, rivers, and tributaries to spawn. It's still very early in the season, but early run steelhead have already started making their way up the Rocky River, and anglers are chomping at the bit to land some. The great thing about kayak fishing is that I can get away from the crowds and fish peacefully with minimal boat traffic. The morning started off with a huge channel catfish that I was sure it was going to be a big steelhead. No sooner than I threw the lure back in, I landed my first steelhead, followed by another before the bite fell off for the morning. Overall a great start to the season, and as always... thanks for joining me!
