36” striper infected with mycobacterium. One of the worst I have ever seen. This fish was over the slot so illegal to keep. I didn’t want to put him back to spread disease so I dug a hole and buried him on the beach. Also collected about 30 Mylar balloons from the beach. People need to stop letting these things go. Never seen that before. Is that common? I’ve caught a lot of stripers in the rivers and sound but haven’t came across that. Looks terrible.

Caught my personal best flounder today here in NC but unfortunately had to release it because our short season with 1 fish per day isn’t in now but at least I got to have the fun of fighting it abd got some good pictures. 26 1/4” guess weight of about 7-8lbs

Last year it was two weeks according to marine fisheries and two weeks after that according to nc wildlife for inland waters which caused conflict from the agencies and problems for anglers who didn’t know what to follow. I haven’t seen this years resolution but I’m assuming two weeks in September with 15inch size.

A couple of guys whose opinion I respect think that it’s not diseased but injured. They say it looks like a shark or a dolphin maybe had the bass in its mouth but it got away. I never saw anything like it before.

If stripping down to your underwear and swimming 50 yards to get your boat weren't involved.....carry on. :anonymous:
