    Back on track....

Grabber is discontinuing the grabber and the x3 is replacing it.
We are in the process of switching everything over from the grabbers to the x3, ran them on both cars at Rage at the River and the driver said these grab way more and the sidewall from what I've seen is much more stout than the grabbers. We only put 100-200 miles on our tires though so I can't give input on longevity. But so far they seem stout.

Since I saw the guys on Expedition Overland using the X3's on all their rigs, I've been intrigued. Almost all of the modifications they do to their vehicles are well thought out and well executed, so I pay attention. Not to mention they actually use their rigs where most people only dream of going. I've been planning on getting a full set of X3's once my old KO's are due for replacement. Price point is great, @DustStorm4x4, you are correct. I'm waiting patiently to see what kind of long term test results are published from Expedition Portal, as they have added them to their testing fleet.

From what I have read, the X3, while a replacement for the Grabber, is meant to be more of an all-around tire, filling the market gap between a mud-terrain and an all-terrain. My biggest concern is their handling of wintry conditions (snow & ice, etc.). It seems General has put in a ton of R&D into these tires for performance on rocks, sand, and mud (hence the X3), but it will be interesting to see how it handles on road and in winter as well.

I'm not terribly surprised that no one on the forum has them yet. Most people won't try out a new product for themselves, but they will wait until someone else does it for them. Why not take the plunge and be the first to write a review?

A few reasons actually. I'm super indecisive when it comes to tires. I may end up going with 33/10.5/15 and the K02s are actually cheaper in that size. But then I'd have to buy new rims and all so who knows what I'll eventually do. I'll most likely wait until my current tires are down to the last usable tread.

I've been running them on a 200 Series Land Cruiser (Fauxverlander build thread on ih8mud) for the past ~6 months. So far I've been really impressed. I've not spent much time in the snow with them just yet but the little I have has been promising.

How about rain? Was there any power loss going from another tire due to weight? Do they balance easily? How do they ride on road?

The Grabbers were garbage in the conditions we have up here, much like the Toyo RT. Hopefully the X3 is better though the Cooper ST Maxx and Mickey Thompson MTZ will be hard to sell against since they seem to hold up so well.

Zero complaints in the rain and power change was not noticeable, keep in mind the 200 has 381HP so they spin tires just fine :D

Balance in the Rockwarrior wheels was no issue.
