These tires handled excellent offroad at ATR. Great traction in mud, gravel and large rocks. Only had them aired down to 20 psi and they really wrapped around and gripped the rocks.

I'm planning to pick up a set for my TRD SEMA wheels. 265-70-17 or 255-75-17. Still debating... On stock suspension for now.
265-70 is about 61.9 pounds and 31.6 inches. the weight thing is the 255 being a C load range weighs 63.9 which weighs more and with the height of only 30.3... sounds wrong to me .

On nicely modded trucks, red-letters-out looks rather awesome...

Goes without saying a offroad/mud tire isn't going to be optimal for snow & ice traction as a dedicated winter tire or even good all terrain such as a duratrac would be, but the X3's performed better than any other offroad/mud tire that I've experienced. :muscleflexing:

Just put them on today. Unfortunately it was raining today... I was a little scared since it was the first rain and new set of tires. Did perfectly fine. I was expecting more noise, but they are pretty quiet for what they are. IMG_20171113_145026.jpg IMG_20171113_142746.jpg

Icom IC-706MKIIG UHF/VHF/HF radio,KC Hilites 20" Flex Bar and ditch lights, Safari snorkel, BedSlide Classic, SnoMaster USA expedition series fridge.
I've got 20k miles on mine now, and have a little different view on them.

Mine balanced easily, and have stayed balanced. My truck is heavy, has no swaybar, and though it doesn't handle like a racecar, I have yet to experience
sliding in turns. The ride stiffness is comparable to KO2s, and smoother than both Cooper STT PROs, and KM2s.

    My negatives:
-The red letters wear quickly if used off road. After few trail runs, I decided to turn them black wall out. Not a big deal for trucks with more street bias,
but if you're buying them for red letter, it is something to keep in mind.
-The 285's in the Generals are a little smaller than the STT PROs they replaced of the same size.

    My pluses
-To be an aggressive tire, they are smooth and quiet.
-Have held up well off roading, and resisted punctures.
-Have done well at pressures as low as 10PSI, daily driven at 40-45PSI
-Have done well in rock, and mud, and red clay.

After 10k more miles from my first post, I'm really starting to like these. Balancing issues gone. ( previous tire balancer was faulty and to blame) Noise has been very minimal for a M/T. Traction just continues to impress me every time I'm out @dorton, I know that you are weighed down considerably compared to me so I will completely agree with you that they ride nicely when I have weight in the truck. I also run different pressures than you. After chalking my tires I found a sweet spot of 34psi in the front and 30psi in the rear without a load. I plan on running these the rest of the life of the tire to check in one last time. Kudos General for an excellent tire. I might get these in a different load rating when these wear out. And your truck is looking really good. Love seeing the updates on Instagram.

I have mine at 36-38 front and back. I don't like them. Going to adjust down to see if the swaying goes away. 2657017 is my size.

Anyone know if the sipes are full-depth? Or will they disappear quickly with wear?

I’ve gone and ordered a set of these as well for my 1st gen. Looking to add several 2000 mile road trips this year so I’ll post up how they handle the highway and dirt roads.

I’m still loving these tires 10 runs in and 10k km’s in. On and off road they are a top end tire, much closer to an MT than the hybrids they are advertised as. Quiet for that type of tire as well, only about as noisy as much old ST Maxx but far better in mud.
