My current key chain just isn't working for me.

Truck keys, work keys, house keys, and anything else that's on here... My keychain is stressed out and over worked.

Let's see what y'all are using, and hopefully I can steal a couple of ideas.

Get a Lucky Line Twisty Key Ring...
Hands down the finest key ring in the world. It's made out of coated braided stainless steel aircraft cable with a solid brass clasp.

Dirt cheap at only $3.45 with free shipping on ebay.

I've carried this one in my pocket for 42 years and it has NEVER accidently opened.

I live a simple life so there's just my truck key, house key, tool box key. screwdriver, and my lucky penny. ;)

That's a Proto forged screwdriver that I found in the middle of the street in 1971. I've used it literally thousands of times. It's the most useful tool I've ever had in my whole life.

Maybe off topic a hair but did you guys know a person can make a copy of a key, simply from a picture of a key quite easily? If they found a pic of your ride elsewhere with a plate number or somehow get your home addy, they could in theory steal your ride, get in your house, etc. by you posting a pic of your keys.

It's a lot of crap to go through just to steal something lol but some thieves have lots of time on their hands.

true, but all Tacoma keys are the same, the only thing preventing me from jacking your ride with my key is that little chip inside of it, but i can still open your doors and stuff with my key, and i can open the toolbox/tailgate too if you matched the keys on the locks.

they arent all the same, its still a number of different keys and matching locks. I dont know the number exactly

but say theres 24 keys and matching locks, you have one key, of 24 possible keys and you key would fit anyone else's locks with a matching profile. BUT like you said, the transducer ring in the ignition wont read the code or whatever on the "chip" and it wont let you take the ride.

I bet theres probably 100 plus keys, i have that many old toyota keys and i havent found one yet i couldnt open or start with one of them. Good thing to keep around when you play with old trucks, no breaking ignitions.

That's so false it hurts. Agreed with above that posting pics of your keys online is a pretty terrible idea. :tinfoilhat:

I have been using a beer opener to hold my keys up high in my pocket since before I could legally drink.

Just go to any EDC (Everyday Carry) forum and there will be endless discussion of the greatest keychain/pocket tool/tweezers/hanky/stealth knife. You could spend days developing your perfect keyring solution.

I hate a bulky key chain, I cant stand that bulk in my pants pocket. Does our taco keys have a 'chip' in them, I would love to try and get smaller keys made for both my new Toyota and the AFE camper shell keys for this new truck. Their both huge bulky, not to mention this damn new key fob deal...........very convenient but I hate it in my front pocket during work.
