    totally.

But, I did manage to look at the repair videos and I can see exactly why it broke. There's a barb on the lever end that sits out maybe a 1/2"-3/4" past any support. If it were a brake reservoir, it would have a stout rubber ferrule of sorts. Heck, the seat end of the cable has an aluminum ferrule; not the lever end.

How did you get it to stand upright? It has no kick stand. Cool pic.

this ^ haha it was tough to get it standing upright at first but it was fine after.
nice! your gonna love it. some of the components and the fork are better for 2012 too
i would probably go used. itll be tough but you could probably find a specialized hardrock or trek 3 series for around that price. there are probably others like GT Giant but i dont know what the model names are i would search craigslist for your area and see what they have

What exactly makes these bikes so pricey. I know obviously it has to do with their build quality and so forth, but what particularly makes a bike cost $1,000 dollars or more?

Also, is diamondback a good brand, I just found a few of them on craigslist.

build materials, components, weight, it basically does come down to quality and technology. for example a steel frame is going to cost a lot less than a carbon frame.

i dont have any experience with diamondback hopefully somebody that knows more about them can chime in. at your budget i would stay away from full suspension
