    In progress :/
Trying to get back into mountain biking, but since I have changed jobs there is no way to safely store my bike while I am at work. So I am looking for a way to store my bike in my truck when I am at work so that I can go straight to the trail afterwards.

To me the only thing that will work is to get a shell for my truck bed so that the bike is covered and secured during the day, but I have a short bed. Has anyone been able to fit their bike in a short bed with a shell? It is not easy for me to take off the front wheel since my fork is the type with the axle going through the fork and wheel. SRAM calls it a Maxle, can't remember the non-marketing term for it right now. So the bike would need to be able to fit whole.

Has anyone been able to do this? If you can, post up pictures on how you did it.

Sdheda, i put my specialized large (19") frame in the back of my short box with cap and with the front wheel on all the time. I just lay it down dérailleur side up with the front tire at the back near the tailgate and just angle it upwards. If you'd like I could snap a pic tomorrow for you.

Maxle is quick to remove. All day storage I'd put in the back of the truck, regardless the effort it takes. Temp like 20-30 minutes I'd leave it on the rack.

That would be stolen in no time if left on unattended, especially in his neck of the woods. On another note, how you liking the carbon?

I bought this for my nephew to be able to ride with me. It's a good deal. Heavy but its a start. We have about 500 miles on it and has been problem free. One thing I did see while doing maint. was they use very little grease in all the bearings. Get in there and pack them good with grease.

Been there a bunch. Usually ride my single speed up there. I'll probably do the Lunar 12hr race this season. Just need to figure out if I have the legs to do it solo.

Yeah I feel complete overkill when I ride my FS bike there, thinking about bringing the hardtail next time. Halfpipe is a pretty fun little trail.

Where else do you ride in your area? I'm always looking for spots in VT...

Man, mountain biking is FUN! Did 7 miles at Enterprise South Nature Park last night and even though I'm totally out of shape I still had a great time. Bike did well, it was good to get a little dirt on it and see how it holds up.
