I am sure that my goes would not give me a hard time even if I wanted to take one of their bikes out on a ride with them. I might have to find out if they would be up for that. Maybe in November when it cools down here....:D

SRAM has 1x11 coming, all the ratios you need with no overlap and only one mech/shifter. Should be BADASS

My LBS told me you'll need to run their(SRAM) proprietary hub since the 11spd cassette is a unique size. :(

I'm hoping you're right lol. I can already climb like a goat with my 1x10, that extra ring in the back would be helpful to space out the ratios to cover a broader set of situations.

    Yeah.

I tried the Ergons. On a town/fitness bike I think they would be great, but personally I didn't like them on a mountain bike. Going fast on rough downhills was scary -- not enough grip since your fingers don't go around the bars. Could be in my head, I just didn't feel safe. But, great for the flat stuff.

    Yeah.
I loved the DW link on my Iron Horse. It comes by many names: VPP, Maestro (Giant), whatever Niner calls theirs, and a few others. Basically if it has a solid rear triangle attached with a lower link and an upper rocker pivot, it's the DW design -- they just move the pivot points around and change the name. I'm sure someone could screw up the geometry, but it is a good design and feels very plush.

I think the FSR design is a good design and would like to try one someday, but many years ago I saw a guy break 2 Specialized frames within a month and still can't bring myself to touch one. Maybe I need therapy.
