Yanked out the Thule Insta-gaters today....my Kuat "The NV" came in finally. STOKED!

Very impressed with the build quality. ISN'T CHEAP, but comes from the factory already equipped with a retractable cable lock for the bikes, hitch pin lock[same key for both locks], and a bike repair stand. Best part, it has 3 positions(folded up, flat for bike loading, down for bed access) and the lowest position still has clearance for my tailgate to fold down completely flat.

Pretty nice to have my bed back to carry stuff for ride days(bike stands, pumps, spare tires, tools etc.) instead of piling it up in my back seat where people could be sitting. I also have the Softride Shuttle Pad for shuttling days.

I've had pretty much every style of rack possible at one time or another (except the kind that goes on the front of the truck...still see those once in a while. No thank you, I like my bottom bracket), and the only one I haven't had, but I like most, is the tray style like that. Helps protect the bike from highway stuff, you don't have to remove the wheel, and there is a barrier to stop someone from tapping your ride without you knowing it happened. Especially since I've heard that auto insurance won't cover a bicycle on your car.

I liked it so much, I ordered the 1.25" hitch version for my Forester at the same time LOL. Same thing as the one on my Tacoma, just built for the smaller hitch receiver size.

The fold down position gave MORE than enough clearance to open my rear hatch door too:

Putting the bikes in the back of a wagon type vehicle instead of the roof DEFINITELY helps with MPG's for long trips as well.

They are at the forefront of bringing moto x suspension tech to the mtb world with their inverted strut Dorado....less unsprung weight & more durable than conventional struts, but I hear the overall weight of these forks are significantly more than 40's/Boxxers. Give & take. I'd run these in a heartbeat if they weren't so hefty. I hope I'm wrong though!

    Fixed :)
I would imagine they weigh more since almost everything about them looks bigger than 40s/ boxxers.
    Arent they longer as well?

    HAHA yeah definitely not cheap.

You know, I just took a peek at the weight specs---they seem to be in the MIDDLE in weight between the 40's and the Boxxers(lightest)!! It's a $1600 fork which puts them right under the Boxxer WC Keronite price.

    HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

inverted struts = *THEORETICALLY* less un-sprung weight = less side loading = less weight means better suspension response = FTW?

    Got me thinking now!
