I made another movie yesterday, but it got cut short. It started snowing while i was up there and prerunners and icy switchbacks do not mix so i had to head down. here is a pic of the tires i made yesterday.

here is a video of the tires in action on some downhill.

I have a hardtail That's fixin to lose it's XT group when this low mileage low priced beauty arrives.........

Also scored some XT 760 rapidfires to replace the dual controls off that hard tail with & a fresh Reba 100mm Team fork & a SID o ring upgrade kit for the shock just in case. Other than that just will maybe need appropriate stem/bars/seatpost & cable housings/cables. The hard tail donor will become the SS offroad but probably not rigid. I have a rigid 8 speed for that kind of fun, lol.

Thanks, have to prepare another FS to give relief to the 1995 Trek Y. I found the stress cracks around the shock's frame mount last week after taking the Alps 4 off to measure the frame for mounting hardware for the new shock I had bought for it. Thinking they're just in the paint and not sure if those appeared from riding or just from retorqueing the shock bolt after measuring but seemed like a good excuse to bump up to a newer 4 link technology from 1995 to 2004ish....and I don't have a Giant bike until this one either. Luckily all the Alps4 and the SID are simple to rebuild and I have o-ring kits coming for those and the Bar is brand new (as far as usage goes) and all 3 are 6.5 x 1.5 so I'll have rear shock choices. Almost bought a Fox Alps take-off new fork but wasn't sure if it was 80mm or 100mm so I just went with the Reba to go with the SID on the Giant.

Should be a fun bike when you're done.

Does the old shock have the same eye-to-eye measurement as the new frame?

Yes, both the Y & the NRS run 6.5x1.5 & all 3 rr shocks I have are that same size. The Alps4 on the Trek & the SID on the Giant have o -ring kits coming even tho neither are having issues. Just got the kits while they are still around for mine while I was scoring one for a friend's SID. Negative seal out on theirs and the kit and me rebuilding it was their Xmas present. The Bar is old timewise but new usagewise so that one should be OK as bkup to either of the other 2.

Thanks! Went a bit on a splurge in late autumn and replaced the wheels with some Flows and Hope hubs using lacemine29.com. Wheels are much burlier now!

Bike is really nice. The only downside is that the overall length is about an inch longer than my hardtail 29er and you can tell the length increase on the twisties. Nothing that can't be adapted to, but it was a bit different at first.

If you didn't see it, spend a few minutes and check out "Slashes" over on PB. It's maybe 15 minutes long?
