More than likely. Not to bad of a job with the right tools.

could it be that he just needs to clean it and regrease it too? mine is starting to creak too but i have a pressfit BB so idk if grease would help or if its jsut bad haha
nice! i havent gotten to ride out west since like the last friday of october! it sucks, i was so excited for the trek demo day at massanutten but it got postponed. the friday fattys are supposed to start up at shendoah bicycle company soon so we will probably be out west every friday afternoon.

    Whole bottom bracket. Yes.

Swapping the bottom bracket is pretty straight forward. Just remember that you'll need a BB that matches your cranks (unless you're gonna upgrade).

You'll need a BB tool, some grease and a couple of rags to clean up the old stuff. Depending on the BB tool, you might also need something to pull the crank off the spindle.

Could be but more than likely, if it's making noises when you pedal by hand, it's gonna need replacing.

Got the Nomad back from CBO on Friday, Jeff my mechanic pretty much said that since I'm super OCD about keeping her clean, the BB, headset, pivots, rear suspension links were pretty much mint but he went ahead and did the service---could have gotten another 6 months easily without a regrease/rebuild.

Spring in Cali, gotta love it :)

finally got got a ride in yesterday, perfect conditions, in the 70s with a nice breeze. wasnt too dry wasnt too wet. the trail had a lot of climbing though, didnt expect it, but im in a lot better shape than I thought I was going to be. working out has definitely helped.

Did some shuttle runs on the big bike Saturday in western Augusta County. The weather could not have been better and the cold Seirra Nevadas afterwards tasted SO GOOD :D
