My new DB Sortie Comp, going to take it out for its first ride today. My first full suspension bike, 5" of travel is like sitting on a pillow compared to my Hardtail.

went to a trek demo day on friday and tested out the rumblefish and stache 8. man 29ers and rocks go great together. i did notice that turning was weird compared to a 26er but by the end of the day I was used to it. i also forgot how much fun a hardtail was. i wish i had the dough to own both a hardtail and full suspension haha

I have a Rumblefish Pro and it is a great bike. It is a really good do it all bike but of you like a little quicker geometry and a lighter weight for climbing the Superfly 100 carbon is fantastic. I rode it at the demo day and it felt nimble and light on the climbs.

    Congrats! Nice looking ride.

So the 64,000 dollar question. Is it good enough that you'd want to own a 9'er over a 26 or both?

Just got back from the Fredrick County MD watershed. The Little Canaan trail killed my rear tire, 2 sidewall cuts. So much for Specialized Armadillo sidewalls.

i didnt mind the geometry at all. it felt really stable on fast straights. turning only felt weird on tight switchbacks, my friend rode the superfly 100 and he said the suspension was too stiff, that could be a number of things including the fact he rode the slash right before haha
honestly, for me i feel like a 29er might be a good choice if I was to only have one bike. my bike is going to be doing double duty in the fall doing XC races and Trail riding. I should have taken my bike with me too to compare but there wouldnt have been enough time to try them all. i really like the stache it felt perfect on the trail that i rode and I didnt feel like it was any less playful in the air compared to my fuel EX. i guess only more time on a 29er will tell.

i would definitely take a 26 over a 29er if the trails had more jumps and flow, especially if I was closer to a bike park...which I will be if they finish the new one over the summer haha
ive never been there but i hear that place is pretty fun
