I got this bike sunday, been riding alot the past few days. the only thing I'd change on it is the fork, right now I got rock shocks tk gold 100mm "not really a fan of rock shocks." Design sucks, the lock out is hard to grab to open/close and the cross shaft feels cheap. Any suggestions on a 29'er fork to keep in mind for the future?

heres a vid of the first big run I did. A little slow at first but, that's because it's so steep and loose.

If it's bearing issues, they are not very serviceable. A BB30 bearing removal tool helps pull out the bearings, and new ones press in pretty easy. I've had a set last a whole season, and one set last just one race. The cheap ones don't seem any worse than the expensive ones.

My crank keeps falling off. I've talked to others who own jekylls and claymores and they all have the same problem. Cannondale will warrenty it, but I can't send my bike off for three months. I have been looking for other remedies to fix it.

I don't have the bike with me right now. But the crank and front sprocket bacically come off. I torqued it down and put blue loctite on the threads to hold it.

I'm ready to upgrade from my Next Walmart bike my parents bought for me when I was like 14. May go to a shop this weekend to look around so I have a better idea if I find a awesome deal on CL.

Great place to look for bikes is Pinkbike.com I've shipped and bought a lot of stuff off there.

Wal-Mart now sells the Mongoose "Beast", which is what it makes you if you can ride it on your local single track.

Pinkbike ftw. Much better for REAL bikes than Craigslist. Especially out here in the Bay Area, CL is full of clowns trying to sell you a "vintage" or "classic" rigid Specialized mtb with crap components for $650. give me a break.

I recently picked up my Trek Scratch 8 off of a guy on Pinkbike, got it for 500 less than one I found on CL, and it was a year newer, a better model and had waayyy better components.

Pinkbike is like the Tacomaworld of MTB. Especially when it comes to buying and selling. Folks on there are very knowledgeable about their products, and prices reflect that.

Anyways, go get a bike and RIIIIIDE!

PinkBike is awesome for any kind of good bike stuff. I bought my Iron Horse 7point7 on PinkBike, rode it for a year and a half or so, then sold it on PinkBike for $100 less than I paid for it. He paid $400 to ship it, said he really didn't have a choice if he wanted a decent bike.

Also sold a helmet, shoes, pads, etc.
