I have the delta fork mount, works well for me, and you can put a lock on it if necessary.

I have one like this for my helmet:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NW-CREE-LED-XM-L-T6-LED-1800Lum-Bicycle-Bike-Lamp-HeadLight-headLamp-US-shipping-/330956637818?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d0e8d867a

The battery lasts about 3.5 hours on high, but you don't really need it on high even on fast trails. I put the battery pack in the top pocket of my Camelbak.

I have one like this for my handlebars, I point it down where it just catches the front of the tire and lights up the ground just in front of me:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bike-Bicycle-Red-Head-Front-Light-CREE-Q5-LED-Flashlight-240-Lumen-Torch-Clip-/290964286145?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43bed2aac1

No battery pack for the flashlight, I just carry some extra AAA batteries.

A fork mount like Canada suggests should work, but a short bed with a tool box may make it a little tricky. You may be able to attach the fork mount to the side rail and run the bike sideways, but I don't think a large 29er will fit that way. You could bolt the fork mount to the tool box (assuming the tool box is bolted down). I could barely get the tailgate closed with my 29er in there, so you may have to run it at a slight angle or ride with the tailgate down. I eventually switched to a Thule T2 hitch rack. Here's a lockable fork mount:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Delta-Bike-Hitch-Truck-Rail-Fork-Mount-Standard-9-0mm-/400558982471?pt=US_Car_Truck_Racks&hash=item5d432d0547

I run a tubeless setup, but my rims were tubeless ready (with an added kit specific to the rim) and the tires are TLR tires (tubeless ready). I use Stan's sealant, and I have only had one flat so far that would have ruined any tire and tube (sliced the sidewall). But, this is how these tires and rims are designed to be run, and I love the setup.

I have heard all kinds of success and failure stories with the Stan's conversion kits, though. Some tire and rim combos work fine, others will never seal. Some people have no problems with any combination, some people can't get it to work at all. I would say that it is worth a try, but be prepared for some frustration before you get it just right.

As far as running tubes, there are some things you can do to help reduce flats, and it depends on what kind of flats you are getting. Some of this may be basic and obvious:

    - Make sure the rim tape is covering all the spoke holes. The sharp edges will slice into a tube quickly.
    - Make sure the inside of the tire and rim are clean of any debris, thorns, etc. that may puncture or slice the tube.
    - When putting the tube in, air up the tire once, then deflate it, and then air it up again. This reduces the chance of having a wrinkle in the tube that can cause a pinch flat.
    - Make sure you have enough air in the tire to keep from pinch flatting. For big guys, I would run 40 psi minimum. For smaller guys, 35 psi should be OK, but it depends on your riding style.

If you are getting flats due to thorns, Mr Tuffy tire strips can help. For pinch flats, try more psi.

If you go with stan's conversion, I did tubeless tires on standard rims equals no problem.

Thanks, I haven't had a nice bike in years. The hydraulic brakes are so awesome, never had mechanical or hydraulic discs, wow what a difference.

Put this on the front rail. Bike fits in by about an inch. Seems pretty darn strong and I can put a strap on it as well. I can even open my tool box.

I have a Fox F-Series 32 on my 26er, Rock Shox Reba dual air on my 29er. I think the Rock Shox rides smoother and tracks well, but it could be the bigger wheels. Not sure about the SID Brain.

Thanks for the info. how bright is the one for the handle bars? Thats probably what i would get. i won’t be using it on trails for some time. if i ride at night is like side walks and stuff. looking to add some light for the dark sections of them, and the cheap wally world ones don’t last me long before they just mess up and stop working.

The handlebar one is basically just a really bright small flashlight, but you can broaden the beam or focus it really narrow if you want. It doesn't go really broad, but should be plenty broad enough for riding sidewalks.

Here's a GoPro video of a night ride, but the video doesn't do it justice due to the contrast between the bright and dark areas. I could see pretty much everything around me that wasn't in shadow.

^^ that looks good! thanks for the help!

I ride down town knoxville sometimes and it will get dark on me, and also their is a few places where i have to go under the road and it’s pretty dark. few other places i’ll ride in the dark.

side note, went MTN biking yesterday for about an hour and half, not really use to it so did not go far. need to get a helmet lol. i did crash once. was on a service road and hit a little loos/soft dirt section and back just slid out.

I too like that blue and green combo, I have seen a Scott Voltage with the same combo and I really like it.
