My buddy just sold me his almost brand new 2012 Giant Revel and helmet for a smokin deal I couldn't pass up. This is my first real mtb (had many walmart bikes that I beat up, fixed, and built throughout my childhood) and I haven't really ridden in a few years. Hoping to hit some trails around town and get back into it.

I may try and upgrade some parts but not sure what yet, so I'll just wait until after a get some rides in.

I've been eyeing a Yeti SB95c frame with full xtr build.. haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've been tearing up the trails in Northern VA and MD for the last 4 months on a 40lb Surly Pugsley and doing that just fine. Just finished the 65mi Moco Epic in under 7hrs on that bike..

I live in Arlington without a vehicle due to the military, but I get to Wakefield, Fountainhead and the multiple trails around Germantown, MD. Either those places, riding roadbike or cyclocross. Where in VA are you?

Looked at your Flickr account.. those pics at the 495 jumps?

I go to jmu but when I'm not here I'm in stafford. I ride up at fountainhead a bit. Those pics are at 495 it's been a while since I've been to the jumps though. I've ridden at the Wakefield skatepark a bit too

Rode the camp Tamarancho flow trail today in Marin. F-Ing love that thing! Sooooo flowy and fun. All it's missing are some huge jumps in between all the tasty berms and rollers.

Same here man, been back on bikes since 1990 or so when mt biking came around and had had too much sun from surfing all the time. I still have the first actual mt bike I bought new back in 1992 and a few more that have been all over the country riding different places. Brings back so many memories just seeing them hangin around from the ceiling waiting their turn to spin again. I still ride them all. I have 13 total so I spread it around.................

Damn....sounds like you have your own little MB harem! You're a MB polygamous! My first bike was a cannondale FS (so called), but in reality all it had was a stem that flexed a little. I got rid of it after 4 years cause it flexed way too much side to side in the rear. But it was so much fun to get into MBs when they first came out....I'd ride 30-60 miles on the road bike and then jump on the MB for another 5-10. It was so different in technique that it felt like a whole different workout.
