Same one I use, I carry the battery pack in the top media pocket of my Camelbak. My buddy attached his battery to his helmet and had a sore neck after the ride.

I did a test on high, and it will run almost 3 hours. It gets pretty hot just sitting there, though -- but out on a ride in colder weather it stays plenty cool. The low setting is bright enough, and I figure it would run at least 4 hours on that setting if not more.

I have had mine for a while. I got mine off of eBay and I think I paid $60. No problems yet, but it is obviously from China. At these prices, though, you could buy 10 for the price of a NiteRider setup.

For a helmet mount, I dismantled the headband mount and put some dense weatherstripping foam on the bottom of the plastic light mount to keep it from slipping around on the helmet. I used some heavy Velcro cable organizer strips to attach it to the helmet. My older Bell Variant helmet had better air vents for this, so I just keep it on that helmet and use it for night rides. It stays put and works great.

I was a bit skeptical about using this as a helmet light, however, my buddy bought the same one, we kept the straps on, used some zip ties to tie it to the helmet. I should get some pics of it to demonstrate, it is easy on, easy off if I want to take the mount off completely, so no worries.

Thoughts on the 27.5" vs 29"? I'm 5'5" and the trend is going towards the 29" most stores only carry them, but I saw a Scott 27.5, I was curious if the 27.5 might be better for a shorter guy like myself. Do you think more manufactures will carry them?

If your 5'5" I would consider a 26 or 27.5. 29ers may be too big for your frame. I race a 26" DH bike and a 29" XC bike. The 29er is even big for me. So if you want a big bike look at 27.5". Good luck.

I'm looking for a XC bike, not really into the DH scene. I see plenty of short chics on them, but I haven't had the chance to try one out yet, but you just don't see too many 26" any more. If the 27.5 catches on, I might just wait.

I ride a 29er, and being 6'4" its perfect for me.
I'd look into the 27.5's at your height. Giant's entire lineup lately looks to be 27.5 these days. May want to check em out.
