yeah, the only thing i don't like about the gopro's is that the wide angle lenses take all the "technical nature" out of everything.

you can't really tell how fast or steep or much trouble it is.

I bet the bigger wheels skip right over a lot of the chatter only 26" wheels fall into, I have ridden fufu that trail is fun, never had any desire to ride face. haha Bombers is my favorite trail in that area of slo, we spent a bunch of time last year working on it and making it actually ridable. It was soo over grown.

here is a rookie ass video of bombers
gopro was pointed at the ground and I forgot my gloves aha

Sedona is a special place for sure.. There's been a huge effort in recent years to build some truly world class trails with something for everyone.. Today was a lot of exposure, steep rollers, tech, and speed.. And with some recent rain, the dirt was as tacky as can be... oh and 65 degrees didn't hurt either..

Believe me, it is well worth the trip.. Thankfully, it's only an hour and a half away for me.

My Steve Potts titanium 29er at Montana De Oro in San Luis Obispo this weekend. It's cool having a mountain bike built by the guy that pretty much invented them.

I ride a singlespeed Redline Monocog Flight 29er. It was going to be a temp bike until I had a custom steel frame built but Ive enjoyed riding it so much I never got around to putting my order in. Had it since 2009. Buddy rides a Surly Karate Monkey singlespeed, loves it.

right now im torn between getting the better karate monkey frame and building it up with used parts and upgrading later or getting the regular monocog complete build and probably call it done

What do you guys run/recommend for an all mountain tire? My size is 26x2.2 or 2.35. I ride a trek fuel ex8. Very dynamic conditions. Rocks roots mud sand you name it.

I have a WTB Weirwolf up front and WTB Bronson in the rear. Both tubeless

EDIT: the Weirwolf doesn't like mud

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
continental trail king. i've used them for everything from high speed single track racing, where a cross mark or small block 8 would be more typical, to dirt jumping, rock gardens, log crossing, sand rides, and everywhere in between. experimented with a number of tires before i got these. i'm on my 3rd set, and will buy a 4th when the time comes.

very versitile, very durable, and fantastic grip.

I'm running a continental mountain king 2.4 up front and maxis ardent 2.2 In the rear. Solid combo. Provides good traction on dry loose ground as well as rocks, can't say much about it in mud though since I rarely ride in mud. I'm also on an ex 8 btw

If New York is anything like western virginia then you may want to consider maxxis minions. Everyone swears by them around here. Minions or high roller II will be next on my front wheel

Whatever you do go higher volume at least in the front. I went from the stock bontrager 2.2 in the front to my current 2.4 and it's soooo much better in the chunky and loose stuff
