    Yeah.
Would love to have some i9's. A buddy of mine used to be a bike mechanic and kept his Trek discount active, so he just bought a Fuel EX 9.9 29er and upgraded the wheels to the XX carbons. I think he's sitting around 24 lbs. He sold me his brand new wheels that are a step up from mine for a great price, complete with tubeless kit and XT rotors. They say Bontrager but are actually DT Swiss hubs, double the engagement points of my original ones (also Bontrager/DT Swiss, but not the better hubs). They don't sound like i9's, but my last bike had the better DT Swiss hubs and I was missing the 36 engagement points.

Thinking of making a trip out to Western NC this summer to do some riding. I went west to CO and Moab last year, do an annual trip to Brown County in Indiana with a bunch of friends every June, so time to look a little further east. Any suggestions?

    good choice and GREAT price...
    you'lllove that bike

eventually you'll give in and want a boutique bike for 3x the price....
then a few years later you'll notice there really inst any difference in the bike, just the number of high fives you get for having the right name on the downtube

I put the i9 Gravity Wheelset on my new DH bike and I freaking love them!! First set of i9's I've had and now I want them on my trail bike as well! The quality, rigidity and engagement are stellar. And for a grand less than ENVE's they really can't be beat!

Pisgah, Tsali, Wilson Creek area outside of Boone, any anything near Asheville or Hendersonville. The list is very long.

Western Virginia has some amazing riding as well.

I definitely recommend western virginia as well. Awesome trails around here and the local shops will help you out with trail advice. There's even a company that will guide you around if you didn't mind dropping some dough.

Ya been wanting to do a Pisgah trip. I think our timeshare has a property in that area. Some Epic riding for sure.

Do it. Not just for the riding (which is awesome) but western NC is magical in its very nature. I absolutely love it down there. I am headed down this Friday for 8 days. The countdown is on!

I hit Tsali last time I was in NC and didn't care for it very much... It was very boring IMO. I was only able to hit the mouse loop branch though. Is the other side better?

first real ride since going tubeless, holy crap the difference is insane. I think I'm running like 30 front 27-28 rear and i felt like there was so much grip, even in the leaves. The higher volume probably helped a bit too. Long climbs were terrible but I think ill get used to it

You can definitely go lower than that w/ tubeless as well. I run around 25-26 psi in both tires typically.

    Yeah.
I would run the front slightly lower than the rear, not the other way around. I inflate to 30 front and 32 rear and don't worry about what escapes when I pull the pump off. I could probably go lower, but I am 200 lbs. with gear. Lighter riders can get closer to 25 psi.

I will never go back to tubes. Unless I get a flat on the trail. Which has only happened once, and would have happened with a tube anyway (sidewall slice).

yeah i don't plan on going back to tubes. i probably wont go much lower in the rear, probably a bit lower front. thats just what it was at when I got back from my ride and checked haha.

one of the guys we rode with tore a sidewall near the bead and then flatted two tubes right after...took us a while to finish that ride haha

Here's my ride. I love this bike. It soaks up everything like it's not even there. Although it doesn't go up well, but that's what I bought the tacoma for.
