I haven't ridden those sram brakes yet, but if the design is similar to their old avid elixir brakes then I'm sure that's why. My avids were fine on cross country stuff, with lots of ups and downs but would die on long descents. i've bled them and since then they are a lot better(knock on wood).

Those Santa Cruz's climb pretty well. You'll definitely like a longer ride on one.

Picked up this slash 9 a week ago, just got it back from the shop after I broke the internals of a shifter at the end of my first ride with it. Luckily sram warranteed the while thing. Now I just need to get better pedals. Looking between crankbros mallets for the clipless option or deity dh pedals. 0507151604.jpg

Does your average bike shop accept trade-ins? I've had my 26" for a year, and was thinking of going to 27.5".

Not unless they sell used bikes. Best route would be to sell your bike on Craigslist and get a new one at a bike shop.

That's a sweet bike! I love the slash. If your looking for clipless i personally am not a fan of crank brothers. Maybe take a look at the vp components or shimano pedals. If you want that style platform/clipless combo then maybe check out the new ht pedals

She is no XC speed demon but fun on the DHs. This could be the last year I have a bike of this type as I don't need all the travel anymore and need to drop a few pounds in my next frame.

Well, it's been a few months on this bike and I have to say that it's been totally beyond my expectations. Managed to get in a few races in Bootleg Canyon as well as several shuttle days. Definitely a bit of an adjustment from my previous DH bike as this one is much faster, more nimble and a whole lot snappier. Overall, I couldn't be happier! Can't wait to start hitting some bike parks.. Angel Fire in two weeks!

Hey Jerry, if you raced Bootleg then you probably saw my buddy Ryan out there, long haired dude shredding a Santa Cruz V10 with DVO suspension, drives a white Taco.
