    Just found this thread

I built up this Trek Fuel EX 9 from a new frame up mid-2014, love it. We don't have massive mountains in the southeast but Birmingham is situated at the tail end of the Appalachian foothills and we've got some fun, well built single track in the area (Oak Mountain State Park, Coldwater Mountain)

Been having a blast on this bike. It's sooo much nicer than my old hard tail.

Build 18 - Fuji Reveal 2.0 coming along. Ready to try this beast out on trails.....after I get the XT levers and some gear cable housing and string it up. Rides great, just no brakes or gears at the moment. Got some subtler Fox stickers for the fork, swapped around some stem spacers and thinking about some 6 bolt XT ICE rotors I saw that'd go good on it. Not sure why pics are reverting to original orientation so everyone tilt their heads to the right. Much better pics after build complete and it gets out in the wild................

oooooo!! How are you liking that bike so far? I personally love the looks and price of it, and the reviews have all been glowing. I'm not in the market for a new trail bike yet, but when I am, this one will be a strong contender

I can pretty much just attest to those too things, it looks great and the price is right. I only rode it for a few hours and will be fine tuning gears and suspension still, but I had a smile on my face the whole time! Just about every single component on it is a new concept for me (carbon frame, 27.5" wheels, 1x11 drivetrain, dropper post, premium suspension) so I expect a break in period before I'm completely adjusted myself

Ah, okay.. So this bike is a whole new world for you! I am definitely used to all the parts and such, but in another few months it'll be time to upgrade my trail bike to 650b.. Did the DH bike earlier this year. I do love the price point of these bikes though. You just can't beat them. Premium builds really at bargain prices compared to the other stuff out there

agreed. I can also add that the customer service has been outstanding. Cam Zink and his brother Howie run US business from Reno, and it was awesome talking with Howie when ordering the bike. Having those two in charge really helped put my mind at ease about buying a direct sell bike

Yeah, Cam and Howie are great guys. I went to high school with both of them and still talk to them. Howie actually just got hitched this weekend.

Make sure to report back once you get the bike all dialed in. I am eager to hear some real world opinions on the bike.

definitely will! my first impression was my fitness is doing this bike a disservice. climbing takes some muscles with the 1x11 setup but man it puts the power down to the dirt. The only more efficient way to climb a hill is to grow some hooves and do it yourself. going downhill, I just can't wait to take it to the park

Park? That sign in your pic warning of downhill only with trail features wasn't downhill? BTW, only disservice to a bike is not riding it, lol.....great looking ride and riding spot.

Cheers to that! And yeah that was a downhill portion of a trail, but there's also a lift-served park with multiple trails that will test me much more

What's up fellow TWers, so I've been out of bikes for a long time but am now just gettin back into mountain biking. I'll be picking up a cannondale rush 3 and it doesn't come with pedals( I think that's really weird but I guess its normal now) so was just wondering what is everyone running?post pics if u got them, thanks.
