My new bike came with a KS Lev Integra, so far so good. Some of the folks I run into on the trail that seem to know what the good stuff is use a KS Lev. I have heard that the Reverbs are running into problems, but that is just hearsay.

I too have heard of issues from the Reverb. I got a KS LEV DX. I freaking love it.

As a side note; Jenson USA has discounted Shimano Saint brakes to $179.

    http://www.jensonusa.com/Shimano-Saint-BR-M820-Disc-Brake

Been debating those or the Hope Tech 3 V4 brakes. I weigh in at ~240lbs while riding and do a combination of AM/DH. Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Saints because of their price.

Shimano xt brakes are only 100 on jenson and 93 on competitive cyclist/backcountry. I'm pretty law to that size depending on the time of year and have ridden long descents on XT brakes with no problem. Get some nice icetech rotors and you would have yourself a solid combo for close to the same price of sAint brakes alone

I had the Hope V4's on my previous DH bike and am currently running Saint 820's on my new DH bike. The Hopes are outstanding. Huge amount of stopping power and very quiet. That said, I also like the Saints but they seem to have less modulation and are a lot louder when using metallic pads.. I switched over to organic pads and that helped with the noise.. Can't go wrong with either though

I've jumped up to 203f/180r ice tech rotors to go along with the stock SRAM DB5 brakes. Still get brake fade on long descents. It's better than before, but I also have since started doing black diamond trails and it is no longer enough.

I think I'm just going to wait for some Hope brakes. I don't know how I feel about the On/Off feeling I keep hearing of the Saints.

I put a KS LEV DX on my bike a few weeks ago. Being able to drop the seat down out of the way has been a transformation to how the bike rides, and it feels rock solid.

I really like that the cable is fixed at the base of the post, so no floppy cable while the seat is down. I can set it anywhere within the 125mm of travel mine has, and it's absolutely solid. The build quality is great and the lever assembly is very solid, low profile, and easy to actuate.

Hey guys, so here's a question. I know we all have trucks( kinda the reason we are on this forum) but I know some of us have racks and or tool boxes or whatever in the bed. So I'm just wondering if any of u can recommend a good hitch carrier for at least 2 bikes( mine and my girl's). There are a bunch out there and just looking for good input. Sorry if this doesn't belong in this thread. Thanks.

I have a saris Thelma for two bikes. It's fits a 29r easy. However the racks when folded down will dent your tailgate where it sits on them. You have to take to bike rack off to open your tailgate. Cross it off your list

Thanks everyone for all the input on a dropper seatpost. Sounds like the KS is the way to go.

I would recommend a tray rack. I have a Thule, but I like the Kuat with the integrated repair stand. But the Thule works with my 29er+, not sure if the Kuat would.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Kuat works just fine with 29er bikes.

I own 2 Kuat NV's and have owned other brands before them...best quality rack I've owned by far.

1st gen Reverbs with the silver collar were very problematic. I bought a 1st gen used and battled issue after issue. Finally SRAM/Rock Shox replaced the whole thing under warranty no questions asked even though I didn't have a receipt of original purchase. Great customer service on SRAM's part.

I have been riding a 2nd gen Reverb for a couple of years now without issue.

I mean a 29+ with 3 inch tires on 50mm rims like this:

    [IMG]Stache_9 by MrTenBeers, on Flickr

The Thule arm that holds the front tire just barely clears it.

    Hey guys,

I know this is a show your bike thread, but I'm looking for some reviews if possible. Got back into mtn biking last after a 6-8 year hiatus. Went from 5 miles per week to around 25 or so these days and still climbing. I am really enjoying it. So, obviously, I'm looking to upgrade. I am currently on a 2006 Gary Fisher Tassajara hardtail. I have found a Giant Trance X4 for a decent deal locally. Would be my first FS bike ever, so looking for some info on this bike if anyone has any. He's asking $950 which is a decent starting point, obviously not a steal. He's added Hope Pro 2 hubs and race face bars and seat post. It is a 16" and at 5'7", I believe this is the right size. I'm on a 15.5" now. Supposed to be looking at it tomorrow. Any pointers or model specific things to look for? Thanks in advance.

Old pic, but that's my Taco with the NV and the 2 bike add-on and my friends Volvo wagon with the standard NV next to it.
