It came home with me this morning! So excited to get riding it, sadly I have to wait until Sunday afternoon after my marathon.

^^^Been there, broke my collar bone Memorial Day weekend, most of the summer no riding.

    Get better soon

On a sadder note, my new hub won't be in until Tuesday, no riding this weekend

Wife crashed on a gravel grinder on NYE in 2011. Insurance didn't kick in until 1/1/12. Went to the ER and was told nothing was bad enough to be concerned. They stapled her leg shut (puncture wound) and sent us in our way.

Long story short - 2yrs later she discovers that her shoulder is fucked. In need of complete reconstruction. She was misdiagnosed at ER. 5th degree A/C joint separation and then some. And had been living with that. That's the long part of the story that I'll skip.

What's scarier - we were told we had a malpractice suit.

Other Drs agreed that it was poor handling and worse dx. But they wouldn't sign their name to that statement. Without other Drs signing off on that statement, no suit could be filed.

    Window of opportunity has closed.

Lawyer and Drs had all medical charts and agreed we had a case. But there's a bro code amongst Drs that goes beyond city limit signs.

Don't have one to show off yet, but was wondering if diamondback is an OK brand. The guy who's offering it to me says it has Shimano brakes, sprockets, and Fox shocks. Is it any good and how much do you think it's worth? I believe it has a 26" wheel

What kind? I ride a 2015 Diamondback Mason FS and it has handled my 230lbs frame while doing drop offs and jumps.

All I know is that list of mods, he says he doesn't know the model or production year. I'm a little leery because of the lack of information but I'm tempted to go for it b/c I've wanted to get into this for awhile, especially living in the Southwest. A friend of mine last night says he's got a kona 29er hardtail deluxe that's a couple years old for $300, what's the best choice?

Man. Reading this has me pumped. Haven't ridden in a while and going to start shopping around tomorrow. Looking for a hybrid of some sort. Last bike I hade was a Specialized P1. Loved that thing.

I would go with the Kona if it fits you. The diamondback could be anything but until you get into the higher price range like the mason, they are just kinda junk you can buy at dicks.

New Specialized Hardrock 29. Been about 10 years but this one just felt right to start back on again.

How much is he asking for it? Its a badass DH/freeride bike. 215mm suspension travel will soak up anything you throw at it. However that being said its going to be a heavy pig(~39lbs) if you plan on doing a lot of XC and uphill biking. You'll be able to lock out the travel to limit wasted energy but youre going to work a lot harder on this bike than a lighter, less suspension travel bike.
