I'm a huge fan of Shimano XT brakes.. easy to bleed, great stopping power, and you can get them for pretty good prices on Pricepoint or Jenson all the time.

    I guess I'll show off a bit :Dimage.jpg image.jpg
Here's my current big rig, 2015 Santa Cruz V10cc. I just wish I could tune my Kings to make the truck ride like the bike does.

The XTs would be plenty, I have a friend that runs them on his downhill rig, just thrown some 200mm rotors front and back and call it good. But if you have spare cash lying around, the Saints are some of the best dh brakes you can get.

I have the Saints on my bike. To put it simply, 40~ish pound bike with my 230 pound heft on it, they never had trouble bringing me to a stop. I also have the ice tech rotors front and rear in the 203mm size. Now, my very good friend charges much harder than I, but weighs in at maybe 150 pounds and hasn't once complained about his XT's (also ice tech rotors at 203mm front and rear).

I just upgraded from crappy Avids to XTs. Currently using the stock Avid 200mm rotors up front, 180mm rear. The XTs are far better, quite, smooth stopping. I used the existing adaptors.

MAF203P/P adaptor is needed for 203mm rotors

The Avids were all garbage. Every single one of them, until just recently.

I have a set of Avid XX brakes on my carbine and they're great. Then they switched the name to SRAM. I have a set of the SRAM guide rsc's on my DH bike and they are even better, all the power of shimano brakes but with much more modulation and no fade.

I used to be a Shimano brake fanboy too...

Rad. 29ers are fun and great mile munchers. I don't know much about the BMX bikes. Cool pic tho!

I bought the bike used on pinkbike. They are pro taper and had a huge logo on them. I don't like logos and was too cheap to invest in another pair of carbon bars.
