When I lived in Palo Alto, they pulled me over. Did the whole DL, warrant check thing for a warning about lights. Dude followed me home too.

They're really anal about lights. Run all the stop signs you want but you better have lights

    My thoughts exactly!

Yeah I had a good chuckle about it too.

I enjoyed myself. He checked me for warrants and then said I was good to go but followed me into the parking lot but only as far as the gate since you have to have badge access to get in beyond that.

    .

I used to ride all the time at nite when i was a teenager, caused a lot of trouble that way, but when i started riding again i realized the ol night vision ain't what it used to be, so i started putting lights on it, now i got 5 lights (three cat eyes and one 100 lumen Home depot headlamp and another 100 lumen home depot headlamp that has a parabolic lens on it), then I saw these Geomans and it's the brightest friggin thing i've ever seen on a bike. Parts of the Iron Horse are pitch friggin black at night with the tree cover. I tried to chase a three or four point tonite but he was hip to me, I had him lined up for a good run with me chasing but he got wise, pulled up, gave me the finger (or hoof?), and went the other way. This buck wasn't like the does that I scare the shit outta and get em running at top speed. :D

Haha there's a park here that I go to, there's bucks and does there. Sometimes when you're hauling ass down a trail with curves and blind spots caused by trees, your pass a curve and there will sometimes be a bunch of deer sitting smack dab in the middle of the trail, they see you coming and they just run before you until they out run you. It's awesome!

I'm pretty sure they can hear people approaching, but then never run off until your right up on them.

I was big into the cross country/down hill seen about 4-5 years ago but times have changed a bit. I am looking to get back into MTB. I am looking at this bike and it looks to have some solid parts for the price.

    http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCProduct.jsp?spid=61510&scid=1100&scname=Mountain

I am not going to be doing hard core down hill anymore i am just looking for nice bike that i can use on the trails. I am kinda curious as to how the 29 inch will ride i have only rode the 26 inch bikes.

Any other bikes that are reasonably priced (i just dont see the need to go dump the money on a Epic like i used to have or a stump jumper) that you guys would recommend please feel free to share.

    Thanks, Bryce

I only have experience with hardtails, so I can't say much about that bike. I did ride a 29er one time at a demo though. It didn't feel as agile to me, but it is pretty cool to be able run over anything. I was running over every root I could find. I'm still a 26er fan though. I'd say go test ride some if you can since your needs are probably different than mine.

You won't go wrong with the spec'd Bryce. I rode a Camber and it was sweet, albeit a 26er. Everyone I know who has gone 29 has been stoked.
