How are the jumps at epswitch? Back in the day it was pretty much a jump line with a few access points, they have trails there now?

It's still pretty much a dirt jumper park. There's a little bit of single track there but it's the most entertainment there is to watch the BMX scene.

I dont doubt that one bit, last time I was there I saw some seriously steep bmx jumps being added in. Im sure some guys can really throw down there now. Are there many mountain bike jumps left?

As of the last time I went there, there was a few doubles that were able to be hit on a mountain bike but that's really it. This was over a year ago and I'd be surprised if any of that's still there

Enduros are 1 of the coolest-looking bikes ever. I don't know why, but I've always loved them. Too bad they are a bit too burly and DH-oriented for the terrain I ride. I'm sure they can still climb and get gnarly, but the Stumpy seems to fit me better.

1 thing I hate about my new Stumpy is the back brakes suck. They have no grab and make noise, no matter what. Kind of annoying for a $3500 bike to have sub-par brakes, IMO.

What brakes do you have? Per my memory, most of the New stumpies have Guides

Ya I think you are right. Sram Guide R or something like that? Organic pads etc. I don't wash the bike with any harsh cleaner or anything, so I don't think I glazed the pads. They have been bled, so the lever feel is awesome, but just the pad grip just doesn't feel good. Plus they are insanely loud. My older '07 Stumpy never did that. Kinda weird. Otherwise, sick bike though.

I'm definitely not a fan of Sram/Avid brakes. Unfortunately they came on my Niner. Once I wear something, anything out on them, I'm replacing them with XT brakes. I love Sram drivetrain and Shimano brakes.

Ya I get ya. My last SJ had the Avid Juicy and for some reason I loved those. It had a pad adjustment wheel on the lever and the overall braking action was fantastic, for the time. I might just swap out the pads on my current bike and see if that fixes it.

I know on my MX bikes, I am super hard on my brakes and go through them and heat them up way more than a normal person, for some reason. Just a habit (drag the front in ruts and drag the rear, while on the throttle over choppy stuff). But I don't think any of that would transfer over to my mountain bike riding, but maybe so? If I drag the hell out of the rear brake a lot, with out realizing it, would that maybe glaze them enough to cause that? Only thing I can think of.

They have different models of the enduro, mine just happens to be the more downhill oriented one. But they sell them with carbon frames and air shocks etc also

Haha I need an enduro style bike and it's hard not to buy one. I work at a shop and therefore get great pricing but I'm still paying off my last bike.
