That's a nice looking bike. You'll enjoy the front suspension, coming from a rigid fork.

The Stache 7 will be bike 20......let's just say I have some suspension on most of them. I built the Marin tractor thing with no suspension on purpose for the fun and hell of it. It is so I can go back to my mtb roots on a brand new simple rigid geared bike....or still ride my very first rigid one back from 1992.

A hard tail 29er, and being 29x3.0, and having adjustable wheelbase, and a present day Manitou fork, and 1x11 are the new things the stache brings to the stable............I have 29er FS covered up in post #10106 on this pg.

I wanted one for years and finally just bought it. The hardest part is the wait after you order it. Luckily, the fabricator is based where I live and I got a little bump up on the list.

very nice, im very jealous. i have a WaltWorks frame right now for SS but the fork is on the shelf waiting to be sent off for a rebuild. looking to get a new Niner Air 9 RDO for the new ss build tho. sucks having to wait on a new bike or frame.

I looked at WaltWorks before I bought mine, nice frames. Built my first SS around '99 or '00 and raced them in the TMBRA races for years before moving to CO.

The Air 9 RDO is a nice frame. I had a One9 before I got the Black Sheep made. Niner's headquarters is literally a mile from my office. About 3 times a year they have a demo sale in their parking lot that has unbelievable deals on their demo fleet. I have bought quite a few parts at their sale and those are new. The bar and stem on my SS are both Niner RDO parts. Got them at their sale and paid around $40 for both.

    Yeah.
I love mine, and I was trying to upgrade to the latest year model but they are unavailable. The Manitou fork rides well, but you have to occasionally turn it upside down (which is how you are supposed to add air to the fork anyway), let all the air out, extend the fork all the way, and re-pressurize it. The positive and negative chambers get out of balance somehow over time, and if it isn't fully extended when you add air, it messes it up as well. Basically it ramps up really fast and you lose some travel. Anyway, that's what mine was like, the new one is carbon and comes with a Pike. There are technical climbs I have only been able to do on the Stache, and it's fun going down as well.

Very Jealous. Im working with my local shop and Niner rep to get a decent deal. My WaltWorks had a Lefty on it but I destroyed it in june at my last race. I have another race in Oct im trying to get the Niner built for but I have to sell some bikes first. I want to get I9's and throw the Lefty on it but ill probably put my Fox Talas on it.
If Niner has a sale soon i may need you to get me a RDO post and stem haha.
Im currently riding a SIR 9 27+ and im digging the geometry so I imagine the RDO will feel great.

I lucked into this one for little over half price. Some chick on a bike forum I'm on selling her boyfriend's bike. Said he barely rode it, mtb wasn't his thing and just wanted to get some of their money back. 21.5" frame but site says 6'1" - 6'5" and she works at bike shop, has one too & says frames run small. I'm 6' so I went for it. It is on bikeflights and supposed to land at my house today. I am looking into having the Dorado air cartridge added that comes in the magnum pro $800 version..........supposed to be $100 or so. I have to get this thing together and ready for a ride Saturday at a nice place that should be great for this bike. Already planning on carbon seat post, lime green oury lock-ons, lime green flat pedals - race face chester most likely, lime green tubeless stems, wheels mfg bb and looking into some blk/grn seat supposed to be pretty good-forgot name. Gonna just put on some black lock-ons and cheap black flats I have on hand for the ride Saturday and see how it goes. Most excited I've been about a bike lately...............Did yours come with the super cool looking 30t chainring or the 32t? Is yours the purple/blue one? Appreciate the heads up on the fork air thing. First Manitou I've had in quite awhile - all Rock Shox and Fox for most part. Do have one bike with an older one and couple in boxes I replaced on a coupla other bikes.

There was a mtn bike ranch up near Denton called Bar H Brakes, that had some of the best riding I ever found in Texas. Check it out, you can camp too!
