Made a new bracket for this Rocky Mount. On the 3rd gens, if you add a header rail it sits recessed, so the rocky mount sits weird. I had tried putting washers both between the rail and bed and between the rail and mount. The washers between the rail and bed are fine but the ones between the mount and rail were bending, plus the whole mount would bend up when I put my bike in with the bed closed. To complicate things, the hinge on the mount isn't flush with the mount. It sticks out.

So I went with a new plan. I now have 4 fender washers between the rail and bed, which puts it flush with the cap that goes above the rail. I made a bracket out of a piece of steel 1/4" thick and wide enough to cover the entire rail and then some up onto the top piece. This will allow the hinge to be slightly recessed and open/close without rubbing the top piece of the bed. It also will prevent the rail from bending up.

I traced the mount with sharpie and cut it out with a hack saw and Dremel. To get the holes right, I put a c clamp into the center hole on the mount and clamped it down. Drilled pilot holes in the 2 side holes and fully dropped those out outside of the mount. Then I put the actual mount bolts through the bracket and mount to get a pilot home in the middle. To finish it off, I hit it with some black appliance enamel.

any recommendations on a good exercise bike for those days you're stuck indoors? not sure if there is a type that translates to MTB well. cheap is definitely preferred lol, can't afford like a dang Pelaton...

If you appreciate handmande bikes in America, take a look at Guerrilla GRAVITY .

What about one of those trainers your prop your rear wheel of your bike up on?

I’d also recommend a trainer. I use the cycleops fluid 2. It uses liquid(I’m guessing some sort of oil) to provide resistance. The faster you go the more resistance. It’s about $300 but you can find them used or a cheaper magnetic trainer that you can adjust resistance manually.

Gotta try biking with bobo. He's a bit vulgar, so make sure the kids aren't around, but he's pretty funny.

I think I have ridden the hill in that vid. Chapman Hill maybe? Trail called Lion's Den?

If its the same one, that thing is a bitch and a half. I was watching the pro class racers get off and push.

I see your in Tennessee, I am looking for a new bike for my wife. You recommend any good shops? I am around Clarksville and not impressed with the shops here.
    Thanks
