It’s more about the components then the brand of frame. I just looked the bike up and it seems to be a decent all around xc/trail bike. If you could get it around the $600 range I’d go for it if you are just looking for updated geometry and components.

Nothing is really different between bike brands in this price range.

Also I see you can this in 26+ tires size which is cool.

    Yeah.
Norco is in WC competitions, downhill and enduro, and has some good riders. I wouldn't worry about buying one of their bikes.

I agree with RedRed, though, you are mainly looking for the best components for the money. I can't figure out why they jump so much in price from the 3 to the 2 -- the main difference appears to be fork (very important) and slightly better brakes, but not enough to go from 899 to 1349. And the Fluid 1 spec just jumps to the Recon Gold and lower-end Shimano components. It isn't much more than the 2, but still seems kind of high for the spec.

My main advice on budget hardtails is to get one with an air-sprung fork from RockShox or Fox. Usually if they step up to an air-sprung fork, the rest of the components are also a bit better. Those low-end coil-sprung forks are dangerous, you are better off riding rigid if you plan on doing more than bike paths. If you can't afford to step up to an air-sprung fork, don't spend a lot of money, keep it around $500.

EDIT: Oh, and I think the 26+ is only for the XS and S sizes.

do you think you could mount those fork mounts right to the bed? I'm trying to fit a bed cap over top

    Norco has great bikes.

Upgrading from Fluid 3 to Fluid 2 you get Rock Shox air fork, dropper, nicer wider wheels, better crank and bottom bracket. Upgrading from Fluid 2 to 1 you get a bit better fork, SLX drive train with wider range cassette (would argue an upgrade from Sram NX) and nicer Shimano brakes.

    Yeah.
What bed length and bike length? A 6 foot bed is probably fine, but you may have trouble with getting the bike to fit in the 5 foot bed unless you leave the tailgate down, and not sure that is what you are looking to do.

Thanks man, I got it off Jenson. Kuat dirtbag mount. It was like $15 had to get a new one becacause this bikes fork is 15x100. My old fork was boost spacing 15x110 which is this one. It’s useless to me as I don’t have boost anymore, I can send it ya if you want...I don’t need it

6 foot bed! 1200mm wheelbase with 27.5 tire and a 989mm wheelbase with a 700mm tire. Should be fine I believe. Road bike seat might hit the top but mountain bike has a dropper

After riding an SC Chameleon, I have the plus hardtail bug. That full stache looks tempting, but not sure I want another full squish.

I'm sure you could. You could probably find some parts to attach them to the bed rail.

I keep seeing this Tacoma commercial where the 3 dudes are in the truck with 3 bikes minutes to firm mounts inithe bed (where there isn't a header rail actually included.. You have to buy the 2nd gen one after you get the truck). And these dudes are driving fairly quickly down a rough dirt road and using crawl control and mts. Then when they arrive at whatever trail, they unload 3 off brand bikes with dork disks and wheel reflectors.

    I've got so many questions...

What trail actually requires a really capable 4wd vehicle to get to?

Why are they showing the bikes going into fork mounts when there is no header rail included stock? It's not even a 3rd gen part. Toyota doesn't even list that it fits 3rd gens. I know it fits. You know it fits.

Where are their front wheels? They are obviously using fork mounts but take the bikes directly out of the bed with the wheels all on.

What fork mount says you can off-road? Rocky mounts all say to not off-road with a bike attached.

How'd they get the tailgate to close on that short bed unless the bikes are smalls? I have to force mine to fit.

Why couldn't they at least take the dork disk and reflectors off? If the trail is hardcore enough to need a 4wd to get to, them reflectors aren't going to last. Edit... That Walmart bike also isn't gonna last.
