Not realllly actually a mt bike but not sure WTF it is other than everything bike...34/13 or 34/16 gearing by manually moving chain/chain tensioner so not quite a ss, not quite road, not quite cx, not quite cruiser, not even DH, not even AM, maybe almost rigid XC, 26x2.25 rr & 27.5x2.35 fr, coasts and coasts for what tires they are..........all I know is it's a blast to ride and confuse people with. Did a 35 mile out and back that consisted of road/greenbelts/singletrack this past weekend and it was exactly the right tool for the job. To make it even weirder, passed up a giant machete laying in the emergency lane of the bridge over a lake on the way so picked it up on the way back so I'm riding this weird bike the last few miles back to my buddy's house carrying this 3ft+ long sword looking object....can't say I've ever finished a ride like that before all swashbuckling like. Got some really strange looks from people in their yards and a couple of road bikers passing them head on due to being on wrong side of road after picking up the sword......but they didn't have much to say about it, lol...........pics of this circus beast............

All you need are slicks and you could roll right on by those skinny road bikes. :bikewheelie2:

I do that anyway when they're changing flats.............:D

I blame the flared drops I didn't use on my gravel bike, this frame hanging around, some spare parts, a new wheelset/tires/seat and wallah.......frankenbike everything bagel. o_O...........that & it is different from the other 18 bikes of mine. :anonymous: n+1=18.......so far.

Is there a big difference in performance with cable housings and gear cables? What should I get?

I will be finally receiving my frame on Friday, have rest of the parts collected at home waiting. Will probably need some small odds and ends to build it up. This is my first attempted frame build so definitely will be a learning experience for me. I'm on vacation next week so if I can get it all sorted out this weekend would be super awesome. Sold my trail bike a month ago and cant wait to go for a proper trail ride.

I use shimano cable/housing with shimano drivetrains, SRAM with SRAM drivetrains or Jagwire with either type...Mostly, new and fresh is better than old and krusty, gear cable/housing for shifters, brake cable/housing for brakes and trimmed with a good cable/housing cutter makes more difference than anything else in the long run........oh yeah, housing cut right lengths too.

I've had mine since I was in high school so it's in need of some repairs. Just had it out for the first time in a few years the other day. I'd like to upgrade to something newer but need to actually get out there and ride before I can justify it so maybe next year.

Found them on ebay while finding out the green monster ones on a page back in this thread were discontinued. Been wanting some of these but $160 was a bit high since I had other shooes. Found these carbon ones searching for 10.5 and popped up for $89 free shipping new never ridden in but not in packaging. Decided to go for it...........said 2 sold and last one is one I got so looks like the shop had a few prs not in packaging but new. Hoping it just is what they say it is. Will find out next week.

yep ebay is the way to go for sure especially if you have a normal size foot there is usually a ton of options. Little limited in the size 13 moon boot department..

The five ten site clearance section used to be solid. But now that Adidas bought them...... it's no longer there :annoyed:

My problem was/is that 10 or 10.5 usually all gone and I run into smaller and larger being only stuff left.....not usually 13s tho. I had to look and look thru all kinds of sites and ended up back on ebay and searched only for 10.5 with shoe name and bingo, ran into the ones I scored....wasn't really color choice I was after but they'll do for the savings. White laces will have to go tho...gray or black ones
