thanks to you and ian for telling me about pinkbike! i can't believe i haven't heard of it until now  that + tw during finals week = the ultimate distraction baha

does anyone know how to keep a bike upright in the back of your truck if you've got a tool box ? i found one dead thread that asked if anyone has ever tried installing bike mounts onto the toolbox itself, but there was no luck there. i really don't want to do that to my toolbox either. right now i just toss it in the back (derailleur side up of course) or hang it over the edge of the tailgate with a towel, but i'm just curious to see if anyone with a toolbox has come up with a solution

There is that dakine tailgate pad people use to hang it out the back vs. a towel. Other than that it'd be roof rack, a rec hitch rack, some sort of bedrail crossbars higher than your tool box with a tray, drilling the toolbox or putting the mount on the tailgate but that would suck worse than drilling the toolbox. That's about all the options I can think of.

yeah i've seen some dakine tailgate pads and some bedrail crossbar setups that looked really good. if i could i'd definitely get a roof rack, but i've got a reg. cab taco  thanks for your help!

I have a wooden tool box, so I just screwed two bike mounts directly to it. You could probably through bolt them pretty easily if you have a drill. There's also a mod on here to put the front bed rail on the front of your tool box. Then, you could mount the bike mounts to that.

Is that a stock photo or one of your own?
The red in the background really offsets the green.
I had been planning on getting a Santa Cruz before the Intense.

    Thanks!

It's a photo I took. I used a gel on the flash sitting on the ground and camera right. The second flash is on the same plane and about the same height as the bike.

Been out on a couple of rides this week and man, it's about the sweetest bike I've owned by a long shot.
