I always air up before I ride. Hate for my tires to be low air and flimsy. Comes from growing up as a BMX racer.

    Yeah.
So I took the Remedy out last weekend, still trying to fall in love. It's brilliant at speed, can't argue with that, but just a bit awkward on climbs and the slower technical stuff. Not bad, just a bit awkward. And while it's got that extra cushion for those big hits, I tend to avoid the big stuff -- at my age, the price for failure is a long recovery at best and never riding again at worst, and I couldn't deal with that. I realized that it is just too much bike for 95% or more of the riding I actually do, and the riding I imagine I will do will probably never happen. And all this talk of the Fuel EX+ got me reminiscing . . . turns out I put more miles on my old Fuel EX+ than any other bike I have owned, and it handled the 5% that the Remedy is good at just fine. So, I ordered a new one. Lightly used Remedy will go up for sale on Pinkbike soon . . .

    Is that a Patrol? I have a 2016 Suppressor that I upgraded from 26" to 27.5" wheels.

I'm lovin it! It was a great upgrade compared to my 2008 Fox TALAS 26". Jenson USA had the 2018 Fox 36 floats on sale.

Jenson always has the deals! I picked up my new Shimano XT M8020 quad pistons from them. they way they had them priced I thought I was going to receive the M8000 or fakes ha!

I need to rent a bike that's outfitted with fox. rides seem to love the handling + grip in the rear and the suppleness up front . everyone I ride with is RockShox or Cane Creek so I can't jump on one of their bikes and feel her out :-(

Loving them. My patrol came with deores so I can’t compare to previous XTs, but the braking confidence with the new 4 pots is fantastic!

I have shimano zees on my TR500 and these have a softer feels on the finger than the Zee, but stop on a dime!

My brother has had his release carbon for over a year now and he has not had a single problem with it. Spent most of the season at the bike park. Not sure why you say that about diamondbacks.

buy a $500 bike (no matter what brand) it's going to have shitty components on it, and it will fail at some point... likely early in it's life.

buy a $5,000 bike (no matter what brand) it's going to have great components on it, and it will also fail at some point... it will just take a very long time.

if you ride the $500 bike 3x a year, it's going to last a very long time.
if you ride the $5000 bike 50x a year, it's going to require preventative maintenance

a shitty bike is a shitty bike. Diamondback is a very big bike brand that makes bikes that work for anyone's wallet. you can't compare their pinto to someone else's Lambo.

    Yeah.
Carbon bars, ESI grips, XT brakes on the way. Now I just need my new bike to put them on . . . not really looking forward to it, though. That Control Freak routing is really nice, but not for running new brake lines.
