I thought there might be a mountain bike thread on here! I wanna get back into it in the new year and Im probably gonna look for a bike in the used market locally. Any recommendation on brands to look for in the sub $400 range? My dad used to be really into this but his old highly modified Schwinn Moab 1? I think, has seen better days. Id rather get something newer.

Picked up a Cannondale F300 Circa 2002 off facebook market for $200. Everything looks good, new goodyear tires, no weld cracks. Previous owner barely rode it. Not sure if the Judy TT fork is original to the bike, as Im pretty sure the Judy's came with boots originally, maybe this one was rebuilt:notsure:. Made in USA, and weighs in at 27lbs. Gonna get some gear this weekend and start riding next week. Cant wait.1226181016.jpg

Took the new-ish bike out and learned a few things.
    1. Im outta shape.
    2. The pedals sucked, feet kept slipping.
    3. The fork may aswell be rigid. Adjusting it does nothing.

So, I swung by REI and saw they had a convenient 25% off all RaceFace pedals sale. Picked up some Chesters and these are amazing, no slips at all on the second time out. 0101191221.jpg
Unfortunetly, the trail I was on wouldnt allow me to go more than a hundred yards or so before I came across another one of these. 0101191350c.jpg
All in all the bike rides nice, except the front suspension. But come tax return time, this will be going on. https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/pr...eerer-post-and-disc-brake?variant=31023965317

How hard was it to train your GSP to be a trail dog? Got a 6 month old that I would love to take on the trails with me. And of course picture for reference

Good looking pup. Obv want to wait until they are at least a year before you run them. Recall must be on point, no questions asked. This is tough with a GSP because they love to chase little animals. Would encourage you to get a shock collar and train with it. The most important thing, and the hardest to teach, is getting them to stay out of the way of other riders. It's dangerous and a serious liability if he just stops and stands in the trail, if a biker come in fast and hit him it's a bad day for everyone.

I have invested in the training collar. Still working on simple commands due to the fact the previous owner had never had a dog period let alone one with such needs. He spent most of his time in a cage in a college apartment. It’s a dream at this point hopefully he will mature soon and I can start working with him. I appreciate the info.
