Great shot, I saw that and thought, "hey, that's an OZ Trails background!" Great MTB scene here in NWA.

Did you know that Arkansas has more miles of roads than California? I didn't until recently. Of course, that includes all the forest roads. Lots to explore here, roads and trails.

My trail bike is a Scott Genius that I'm thinking about replacing.... Every month or so I do a search on Canfield because their Balance is at the top of my wish list... anyone know what's going on with them?
    20150516_173809.jpg

I love my 9zero7, but the past couple of years my winter trails have been ribbons of ice, so I was going to get studded tires, but wanted a second wheel set for them... and never pulled the trigger on that (stupid fly rod wishes this winter ruined that plan!). This bike has been sadly ignored for a little bit.
    2014-11-30 15.54.42.jpg

And a few years ago, I got the itch to put a bike together, so I built up an Airborne Pathogen for the 3 times I downhill a year (because the 3-packs have a discount). Most components were bought on clearance/sales, but it was fun putting it together. I'm starting to lean towards selling this bike because I am 47 and am fragile.

Canfield brothers split up, rumor has it one of the brothers, Chris I believe was trying to re-open under a different name.. Honestly, I was a part of a group of guys who were able to get my hands on a balance when they first dropped in 2014 and all 8 of our frames cracked. Mine cracked twice in numerous places and the linkage cracked on me as well. When we all contacted Canfield we were given the runaround and basically told us there was nothing they can do for us.. I would stay away from the Balance as far away as possible, I went to a Knolly Warden and have never been happier!! Best frame out there!!

My go to for whatever it may be is the 2002 Turner RFX. My XC bike usually lives at home. Other than the 37lb weight, she climbs uphill nicely and goes downhill even better.

2005 Fox 40, Fox DHX, Forumla Oro brakes, 224mm front disc, 180 rear disc, 10 speed Praxis cassette with one up 45 tooth cog, 33 tooth Renthal chain ring on Shimano Saint cranks, shadow derailleur for the rear, carbon monkey bars, Chris King hubs, DT Swiss wheels. Shes a beauty and sure rides like one both uphill and downhill.

Follow up... were the cracks or problems you had on any of 2016+ frames? From my research things changed on the 2016 version from the previous years (including the aluminum type).

Not sure. My frame was a ‘14 and the fact that Canfield wouldn’t do anything for 6-8 people who all had cracks in the same areas in my opinion, won’t ever get my money again. Completely messed up on their part and I strongly suggest against purchasing anything from them. You don’t want to be thousands of dollars into a bike thinking, will this be the drop that the frame let’s go..?

Been riding an EPO since last summer and I love it. Unfortunately it looks like Canfield is going under, although they just licensed out their rear suspension design to a new company that's making some sweet looking AM bikes. For the trails around DC, the EPO is about perfect... once you get into the rocks in Shenandoah it's a diff story.

I recently picked up this 2016 Giant Glory to get back on the mountain with a little more plush.
Anyone have recommendations for wrist guards/braces that they've tried or use?

I actually have a set of 661 wrist guards I bought years ago and never used if you're looking to buy some on the cheap.

I waited about a month for the Nukeproof Scout race to come in stock, and it never did.
So I picked up a salsa timberjack slx 27.5 as my first mtb just a few days ago.
