So having taken 1 1/2 years to finally get in all of my parts, I have taken my time putting them together. This is as far as I've gotten so far:[IMG]
Would there be any interest in my creating a build thread for this beast?

I'm at work, so no pics right now. But I got into mountain biking 4 years ago, 2 years ago I got my 59 year old dad into it. Last year we competed in a 6 hour endurance race (with black trails), out of around 200 riders and 30 some odd teams we came in 9th.

My current ride is 2010 Santa Cruz Heckler. Pops just sold his S-works Stumpjumper for a Santa Cruz Nomad carbon, he likes nice things, the nomad tips the scales at 24.5 Lbs.

Edit: Black as in difficulty level. I'm sure we all know that, but I just read the post and thought it needed an explanation.

I find the best prices @
    Cambriabike.com
    pricepoint.com

    Good selection, but $ier
    hucknroll.com
    jensenusa.com
    bikebling.com

    others
    nashbar.com
    performancebike.com
    coloradocyclist.com

I'm not that familiar with 29ers, but Mavic and Shimano DX/XT are good wheels without going overboard

Competitive Cyclist is another source, but get in contact with a salesman for a deal on a package.

For 29er wheels, check out the Stan's NoTubes web site. You can get a set of 29 inch wheels with Stan's hubs for a resonable price for a relatively light wheel set that will be reasonable stiff.

Added 8 spd gripshift cf shifter, sram x4 rr der, sram chain & 11-32 sram cass to my unshimano single speed offroad bike to be able to get more use out of it. So now it's got 36t single up front with 11-32 8spd out back. Here's a few pics from the first outing on it and before everyone gets their don't ride wet trails drawers in a bunch, these are established ATV/4wd trails that bikes will do nothing to change when wet soooooooooo....rode anyway.

Nice Brian, my bro had one of these but older (07 perhaps), and loved it but had one of the rear pivots fail and damaged carbon insert area from what I understand. Great bikes, but you may wanna stay on top of rear susp service and inspect frequently. Hopefully not an issue on later models.

Hey everybody, what brand of pump do y'all take with you when you hit the trails, I have one mounted on my frame but I've been looking at getting a better one or one just slightly bigger (maybe carry in my camelbak)

I have a small double action pump. For the life of me, I can't remember the brand.

I take CO2 with me on shorter rides and on longer rides I will take CO2 and a pump. I would spend the money to get CO2 and keep the pump that you have.

Thanks Man! I'm diggin it too !:D
You got it..running into a couple of snags though, ordered/waiting on some new tools and new tires, not enough clearance with those 2.35 honkers.
But I can start one in the "Other Builds" area this weekend with what I've got so far.

Holy cow! Amazing story Joe and a 24.5 lb Nomad is incredible, and in Fla??? nonetheless......
My bro and I have both become bike junkies over the last 5 to 10 years and have tried to get our father into it. He's is decent shape for a 62yo smoker, but probably never happen.
    Enjoy!
