Yep MTBR.com is the best source of info in my book. Only downfall is there seems to be a fair amount of kids on the site now days so the trash talk has gotten a bit worse. But still a great resource.

    Yeah.
Here are my two rides. My Fuel actually has the 2012 frame and color, but with the 2011 component group (which is better than the 2012) so I got the best of both years.

My 29er is the least amount of gay I could find, a steel Gary Fisher Sawyer. I put a Reba suspension fork on it, could not handle the fully rigid thing offroad. For smoother single-track, this bike rocks.

I ride a carbon EX9.0 (its one of the first year redesigns) and it is a great bike (my dad has one of the newer ones as well). The frame is very stiff and it handles very well. I will alway recommend Trek's EX line

EDIT: the only thing not pictured is the Crank Brothers Joplin r seat post

Really, you derive a sexual orientation from the type of bike someone rides? Homophobic?! Jeez, thought this thinking usually disappeared after high school. Some people never grow up.

I think he meant gray. Or if he did mean gay it was in a South Park kinda way.

Also here is my Disc Brake mod for this old beast. Before Disc Brake conventions were established, this had a different lock up. I fab'd a bracket to attach to the standard moutning.

    Yeah.
Didn't mean gray, but yeah, just joking around. Some people can be pretty sensitive. I don't wear tights either, I leave the plum smuggling crap to the roadies. That Spandex/Lycra stuff is gay, too. Kinda like truck nuts. :p

Airun: I ride Castlewood all the time, but my favorites are Greensfelder and Chubb. Matson Hill is turning into an awesome place as well, but I can only make it out there on the weekend. You should try it if you haven't yet.

Oh man, thanks for the tips! 4.5 hr drive so don't make it up that way often but it's nice to hear some helpful reports.

    Yeah.
Here ya go, crappy phone pic. I got the fork on eBay, it's the proper G2 offset and the bike handles like a dream on the smoother/faster trails.

After being bikeless for too long I snagged these two up this weekend. 2001 Super V 500 and 1999 Specialized FSR Elite. The FSR needs a couple minor things but I'll have plenty of time to fix it up waiting on the snow to melt out here....

Thanks. I know they're a bit old school but I spent more drinking last weekend than I spent on both bikes combined. :D So I'm happy with that.
