^^I think anything that will get you out on the trails is a good thing. Drinking and biking are strange bed fellows. In the early days of the Tour de France, riders would visit the pubs before major climbs to carbo load.

Its funny, the more I ride, the more I drink (thirsty). Then the more I drink, the more I have to ride (burn calories). Needless to say, I've been riding for a while.

Yeah that's true. The last bike I owned was a 99 Super V 1000 which I got in 1999. I'm no stranger to spending money on decent stuff, but for the casual riding I do now these will more than suit me.

    I like this theory. :D

I just picked this up. It's a 2012 Santa Cruz Superlight. It's my first mountain bike. Can't wait to take it out.

Yeah. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I was looking for something to fill my motocross void since I sold my CR125R back in 2006. I also wanted something that would give me a good workout as well.

Speaking of beers after riding...I tried a Denogginizer the other day. 10% super hoppy. One beer for the buzz!

I'll have to look for that one. Try a Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA or 120 minute IPA if you can find it. Probably the best beer I've had.

I haven't seen any Dogfish on this coast. I'm sure it's here someplace. But I'd love to try that.

I'm thinking about getting a FS MTN bike this yr. I have an 06 GF Wahoo disc now and it's been great but I want to upgrade. I demoed an Orbea Occam a few months ago and loved it! But it was the carbon frame and I dont have $7k to spend on a bike.

However the Aluminum frame is just under $4k. Just wondering if anyone knows much about these bikes and if its worth the $$$.

    Here's the specs.

    Yeah.
Those are nice bikes, I have seen a few of them and have not heard anything bad. That one looks like the rear pivot is at the axle, which is like the Trek ABP or DW design. It works great on my Fuel, but I can't say it is any better than other big-name designs.

The best thing, though, is if there is a local bike shop that sells and supports them. All of the bigger names have good bikes, but they do break and need servicing at times. Best to go with something supported locally, then you can drop it off and have fixed under warranty if needed, and they are somewhat familiar with the bike.

IDK. Based on the specs, I think the H10 might be overpriced.

I also don't see a lot of reviews on that bike (which doesn't make it a bad bike). And if it were me, I'd probably ask myself if I liked the bike enough to pay what they're asking for it. If the answer is yes, it's fairly priced for you.

Yeah I'll admit that I am attracted by the uniqueness of the bike. I originally wanted the fuel ex 7, then i saw this. The bottom of the line Orbea is like $2800. So yeah the trek is probaly all around a better buy. But I just love the look of that Orbea.

You can get unique in other brands as well :)

But if you end up not riding it for whatever reason, it wasn't a good buy. So my advice is compare it to other FS bikes and if in the end, you still like it? Buy it.
