Sweet bike. I have heard a lot of good about the Bronson. A friend of mine loves them. I feel like it would be hard to compare those 2 bikes, in a way though. Sounds like if you had a SJ Evo or an Enduro, it likely would've better suited what you were doing. The reason I got my '16 SJ was because we have a lot of short-approach climbs and things of the sort, around here. But I agree on fast downhill it can get away from you. But most of the declines that I ride is pretty flowy and not super high speed. If it were, then I def would have opted for something with a bit more rake in the front.

My most recent steed - a Spot Rocker Carbon setup geared at this time. I managed to eek in a couple dry rides before our last snowstorm in CO and it is a blast to ride!

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps

I didn’t update this, I ended up buying the Lyrik Ultimate and am very happy with it! It’s about half a pound lighter than the Recon also.

My first set of carbon wheels was I9 hubs laced to speedtuned rims... I broke the living crap out of them and went through 4 rims in a year and even managed to crack a front. Partially not running enough pressure and mostly a rim that wasnt well built. I bought some reserve rims and laced them up and really enjoyed them, even cased that canyon gap right on the rim and it didnt even untrue. With the patrol I had to get a new set of hubs(boost spacing) and I decided to get rid of the beautiful zing and went for dead silent with the Onyx hubs. Spent over a year on them now and wow they are fantastic. There is INSTANT engagement and zero rolling resistance. I absolutely love them. I still have the speedtuned rims and I9s on the nomad, I keep the bike for friends and fellow riders when the bikes break down. Hands down for my trail bikes I will be running onyx. A dj I would find the hydras to be a blast.

Editing this... the patrol came with the flow mkiv and they are decent. I prefer the stiffness of carbon and when riding fast flow/berm trails its a noticable difference on carbon rims. If you are going to run metal I would go dt swiss or stans. Carbon, stick with a lifetime warranty company. I have blasted the reserves for quite sometime and they hold up.

Another set to consider are We Are One Composites - they are excellent carbon rims made in CA with a great company and warranty behind them. For the money, they're hard to beat.

Thanks guys. I ended up finding a good deal on some I9 Hydra Enduro S wheels (the alu rims with steel spokes) around Christmas time and got those. Not much lighter than my factory wheels, but the engagement is what I was looking for, and they are on point.

    Hi all,

here is my 29er. A 2020 Marin Trail 7, been biking my whole life but have been hitting mountain biking hard again the last couple of years. Live in KC area, but have travelled out to UT, and ask well as NW AR to hit some awesome trails. Hoping to make it out to CO this year or next to go riding as well.

    Yeah.
KC area has some cool trails and people, got an AirBnB there several years back with a bunch of hooligans from STL. We hit a lot of the stuff in the area and had a great time.

Getting back into biking after probably close to 10 years. Picked the frame up over the winter and built it up mostly out of old parts i still had laying around.
