Definitely fast and flowing! There's pretty much only XC around here, but I love it. These trails are about 15 mi from my house. There's some less intense trails about 1/2 a mile away. It's awesome! I've found I pretty much adapt to whatever is most accessable...used to be kayaking and sailing. I'd hesitate too if I were you.

Just bought it yesterday. First bike I've had in 15 years. It's a 29er so hopefully it doesn't kick my ass.

    Congrats!

I'm not sure what your pedals are but if they're the plastic ones, you may want to look into either platforms or a clip less system--the plastic ones have a habit of breaking when you least want them to :D

I got to see David Knight at Last Man Standing, which was held at the ranch that I usually ride at. It was insane, that course, and getting to try some of the sections personally really makes you appreciate enduro riders' skills.

But that video is a little biased, the downhill dude obviously knew the course and i can imagine having a dirtbike would only marginally be an advantage, but only if you know the course. Otherwise, the bike's weight and size would just be slowing you down! I'm surprised David did that well actually

do any of you guys use the maxxis high roller or advantage? i need some new tires. it will be used for rocks and dry dirt mostly, any other suggestions? im thinking about a 2.35 in the front and maybe a 2.1 or bigger in the rear depending on what will fit.

I just took the HR's off my Nomad. Replaced them with a WTB 2.3 WeirWolf in the front and WTB 2.2 Wolverine for the rear.

ive been thinking about the weirwolf too. how do you like the WTB over the high rollers? was there a reason you took the high rollers off?

I think the WTB's offer better traction in the variety of conditions we have here. Plus, they're similar to the old Panaracer Smoke and Dart which I liked a lot.

Road ride today....it was ok. I just can't get used to worrying about idiot drivers in P.T. (pathetic turd???????) Cruisers among others taking me out on narrow roadways. Makes me even more excited to hit the trails.
