Love my Gary Fisher Cobia. Awesome bike, not too high end, but I haven't broken it yet (knock on wood). All I can take it on are power line access trails, or friends private property, but makes a great DR. 29" wheels make it fun too!

    I have a question.

    Spend my money on this

http://www.diamondback.com/2012-recoil (or an older model) and upgrade the Derailleur and then eventually everything else, (this is the price range I am trying to stay at)

    or

Buy a HT for about the same price or lower, if so, whats your recommendations?

As said above, I have a no-name brand and its FS. The rear spring is so small I dont think it does anything..

    Thanks in advance

I think I would rather have a HT if you are looking in that price range.

    Yeah.
I agree with Kryten, get a HT with a decent fork and components rather than a cheap FS. A cheap coil rear shock is a bad idea.

Does anyone ride this style of pedals? Any thoughts? Other better alternatives out there? I have been riding with some older welgo spd clipless pedals given to me by a friend for about 4 years now, but I find myself not being so confident as I used to be on the steepest most technical sections. Mostly just slower. Was thinking that this may be the solution for me. Unclip and use the other side when it gets hairy. :D
