    Yeah.
These clip in on both sides, but Shimano does have some other ones that clip on one side and not the other. These have a small cage size but do provide a little more "platform" for your foot, especially if you come unclipped on purpose or accidentally.

I have run these exact pedals for a while, although I now have the ones with the metal cage. I did smash one pair, but in general they are pretty tough. The metal ones seem to be a litte tougher.

You can find these on eBay for a lot cheaper . . .

Have a look at a set of Mallets. They use the egg beater style of clip which has a bit more float. Similar platform.

I know the SPDs have a tension adjustment for releasing, do the Welgos? If so you can try loosening it a bit per your confidence level. At least on my Control Zs, they get wicked slippery when its wet out and I am in street shoes. Also to run combo platforms (that engage on both sides) in order not to engage, you need to use the middle of your foot which may be uncomfortable.

I did not realize they are clipless on both sides. I just posted these particular ones just for illustration of the general pedal style I'm inquiring about.

Which ones are the metal cage ones? Yes, If I do decide to get new pedals I will shop around for sure, including ebay.

I will do that. Not sure what egg beater style of clip is, will have to look that up. The one posted have the same mounting style as I ride now, thats why I posted them for illustration. I would like to keep the cleats in my shoes the same unless other systems are that much better.

I will have to play with that. The whole bike needs a tune up, but last couple of rides I noticed my right foot is a lot easier to unclip now then left one so it will need adjustments anyway.

Thanks for all the feedback. Any other suggestion are welcome. :)

Woot for the fellow Titus riders. I keep getting the itch to replace my 07Motolite, but the damn thing is tough as nails, lightweight and does everything. I here good results with having the RP23 Push'd, so I'm considering.

Egg beaters use a cleat different than SPD. The Mallet looks like this:

    And it's cleat, like this:

So the answer is it is different and like the SPD, a pretty good system. If you're comfortable with SPD; there really is no reason to change.

It's old school! AMP research F4 BLT, before they made power step bars, LOL. But the smoothest forks you'll ever ride. Coil-overs :) AMP forks got a bad rap with their early f1 forks (1st gen) this was 5 generations deep and hella strong w/cf tubes n aluminum, first 4" travel fork and light weight. Also one of the original companies with disc brakes. They stopped making bike stuff unfortunately, but they still service stuff and have parts available. Just had mine serviced last September. There is a German company that makes a very similar fork design, the linkage is the same just the shock and spring setup is different.

Lots of spacers, allows me to adjust bar height depending on what kind of riding will be doing. Lots of technical, drop-ins or dh= up high.... XC = middle or low. Gotta nice Lil hardtail k2 team setup too for XC so the Titus stays up high most of the time.

Amen on the toughness! And I was about to push mine too but something came up and I had to put it on hold. It'll be done a soon as my trucks is set up.

I'm gonna send my RP23 in to be Push'd. Might send my Talas as I've been unable to use the last 1.5" of travel unless there is zero pressure. Guess its a some what common thing.

Registering for Oregon Enduro Series, well 3 of the 5 races.

Multi-day events...think 4 or 5 locations for the series. I was just going to do the ones in NW Oregon, but got friends doing the Ashland, OR so gonna go south for it and some camping.
