Hi there, I hope I can post in here with a tech question.
I bought my first set of aftermarket wheels and have a question about the offset. I can't find an offset spec stamped on the wheel. Although I do see stamped on the outer surface towards the lugs are WT, DE, and 15 all separate from each other (not in one line like the width and diameter spec). Per looks like I'm working with a stock alloy 7Jx16 ET15 (2002 3.4 4WD)
Can I assume WT DE or 15 are associated with the offset of the wheel? Thanks!

Still debating if I want to paint the caps black or leave them silver.

Hi Guys. Brand new to Tworld. Anyone on this thread have any knowledge as to whether I could run steelies from a 1983 truck on a 1994? They are 15/ 5.5 not sure of the offset. I just like those steel rims more than the ones Toyota introduced in 1984. Less contouring on the lip surrounding the bolt pattern.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes. Those are the rims I'm talking about. Love that truck. 69 Jim, do you know if I can run those on my 1994? I'm unclear on backspacing issues etc.

Just snagged some steelies from road ready and am having them slapped onto some Wildpeak AT3W 265/75/16 tires on Saturday along with 5100's on the front and rear! I've been following this thread for a while now and this is definitely what pushed me to going the steelie route. One thing I'm stuck on is the lugs and I'm damn near ready to pull the trigger... That said, will these do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/DPAccessorie...ma+acorn+lug+nuts+black&qid=1594848998&sr=8-5

The list is long but distinguished
Don't remember if I posted an update on the hubcap mod I was working on so apologies if this is a repost. I experimented with different ways of mounting the caps to stock style steelies and am not impressed with the results thus far. I did a mock up:

    mXJ6gVISAz9BpaR9yTLX7j6jyPrXpsYNOie7sWov_0f88868ae3437ba1852d533c54b136a977fda716.jpg

    My personal thoughts:
    • The truck needs some lift
    • The wheels need to be a lighter color
I have since added ~1.6" of lift and removed the mudflaps so I may try again.

I looked into custom steelies from Stockton Wheel and they can give me exactly what is needed with hub cap mounts (just send them a cap for reference) but the price starts getting up over $220/wheel.

    Feedback welcome.

Nice. May be a little pricey, but you can't go wrong with the folks @ Stockton Wheel. Their skills and finished product are second to none.

    Hey all:

I just got an FJ steelie to use as my spare tire as I upsized and the stock spare 16" rim does not have an equivalent size tire...

The regular lug nuts will work with the FJ steelie spare without issue, yes?

Appreciate it. And does anyone want 1 16" 3rd gen Spare???

Yeah those just dont look good. Run em with no caps or the little FJ Cruiser caps. Embrace the lug nuts!

The FJ caps wont fit on with the stock lugs. You need something more narrow. I have the black splined nuts

The deed has been done and I'm very happy with my decision on going with the steelies! Ended up with the Bilstein 5100's front and rear (front set to 2"), the Road Ready 16" wheels and Wildpeak AT3w 265/75/16. The guys at Socal Suspension in El Cajon did a great job and were very fairly priced after calling around to 4 other shops in the area - I'd recommend them to anyone in the SoCal area.

I like the idea, but it doesn't look good at all.
