I didn’t see an answer to your post and since I have a plow on my 2009 Tacoma I thought I would answer.

I am not sure exactly how much. 200-300 pounds I would guess. The internet might know. My plow is a smaller Fisher plow.

Not too bad to put on. It can be done alone. Sometimes you have to fuss with it, other times it goes on easy. The more you do it the easier it is.

There is no limit to the depth of snow you can plow. You can get stuck in any amount of snow. Snow plowing well is a skill like any other task. Mistakes and experience are a great teacher. One of the secrets of plowing is to not let the snow get too high before you plow it. You do not need to “finish” plow until after the storm is done but it helps to break out the end of driveways and to clear the center area of the driveway or plowing area about every 6 inches or so of snow. That makes the likelihood of getting stuck or overwhelming the plow much less likely.

I have never used chains in more than 20 years of light plowing (mostly just 1-5 driveways per storm) but in certain conditions it might be necessary. Snow tires are highly recommended. But mostly it is just a matter using proper techniques to not put yourself in a bad situation. And having said that sometimes shit happens or the conditions just really suck.

I really try not to plow up steep sections because that can be difficult. I would rather drive up the steep section with the plow up(or back up if that makes more sense) then turn around and plow back down. If I have to plow up I try to take it in smaller slices. Or leave the truck parked at the top of the steep section before the storm starts. And once again, plow several times in the middle of the storm if necessary.

Often trial and error will teach you what works and what doesn’t.

Bottom line is the Tacoma is more than capable.

    Still thinking about it.
    Sorry for the delay @GilbertOz

I concur with ACEkraut on all points here. My situation is that I'm plowing two miles of unmaintained road to get to the highway. Basically two long, slow passes on level ground to push the snow to the berms. Eventually the road gets too narrow and then a neighbor comes through with a tractor-mounted snowblower and blows the berms out. It's a perfect teamwork situation!

What you CAN'T do with such a lightweight set-up is parking lots, gas stations...etc. At least not in my world where the snow accumulates all winter long and it takes a heavy duty rig to push and stack the snow into piles.

Wanted to go play with my new drone so I went looking for snow to crash it in.
