had a lady ask if I could build her a bed with a little more detail than what I had been doing (her and my definition of "a little" differ slightly) I asked her to send a picture of an idea of what she wants this is what she sent me
[IMG] and this is what I came up with

I'm pretty pleased with the out come but man it's heavy, its a king size and the footboard is 34.5" tall and the head board is a right at 5'. this started out as 9x 17' 2x8's (I had some waste but I also had to get into some leftovers from other projects so really heavy any way u look at it)

Does a TRD license plate frame count as a mod?
I've been making live edge slab coffee tables lately. This one is walnut with a sturdy white oak base. Inspired of course by the work of George Nakashima.

Not sure this fits in with the amazing work you guys have done but it might be helpful to someone.

I wanted to buy a few planters for my deck and was astonished by the $60 "redwood stain wood" planters. Very tricky language that. Not redwood but redwood color stain on wood, likely generic whitewood. Ridiculous. So I built these from redwood fence pickets (sides), redwood 2x4 (bottom) and redwood banding. No plans, just decided the length would be 4 pickets wide by 2 pickets deep to make it easy. I also covered the inside with landscape fabric and tucked it under the top trim before attaching. All the boards, save the trim, are attached with coated deck screws.

These were done 4-5 years ago and they are still solid. This weekend I drug them around my deck - 1 fully loaded and it didn't show any signs of deterioration. The other we emptied out to replant and it was solid inside. I can't remember the cost but it was likely 1/3 of the crap the box store was selling.

Kinda hard to see them in this picture but it's all I have right now.

Is there a reason you dropped the step design on the last two boards on the left?
