Looks good! what size tires are you running and any difficulty holding 5th gear? (If you're auto trans)

I do have a manual with a Boss 2.0 lift kit with the add a leaf in the rear. I sell 7 cords a year of firewood. For the previous 3 years I used my 07 Tacoma . This was my first year and first trips with the 16.

I just put it in drive and put on the ect button. The truck worked like a truck and I had no issues or concerns what so ever.

This trip I never got out of 4th or above 45. Just a bunch of hills, turns and a few straight aways. Like I said earlier though. I had no concerns what so ever.

I do have a brake controller though which helps. This year I bought a new dual axle trailer with breaks.

Thanks for sharing. Ive been towing a 3600lb (loaded) travel trailer. I have brake controller, 3" lift with aal and airbags. The taco does very well (I can hold 5th as long as It's flat and no major head wind) but I'm a little concerned how drastically tire upgrades will affect towing. I want to go 255 85 r16 but may play it a little safer and go with 265 75r16s. :notsure: Re-gearing is an option but probably not gonna happen this year.

How can you have a manual transmission when you have a double cab long bed and you said you put on the ECT button?

Haha. My bad. I have an automatic transmission, not manual!

Lord I missed your other question before too... I have 265/70/17's

Ah gotcha. Just for future reference, while you are towing if you put your transmission into sport mode it will default the top gear to 4th. If you push it up it will default top gear to 5th.

Putting the trans in drive is going to try to give you the best fuel economy, which may not be the best while towing. Your trans may overheat from constantly shifting gears.

Shifting it over in sport mode is basically like turning over drive off. ECT also helps which you used so that's good.

For petes sake, if you're gonna tow anything, please be sure you know how to back up and your limits/logistics.

(Not my video, but this guy had me laughing. At the point he's fully perpendicular across the street, he should have just put out his awning, pulled up a few chairs, popped a top, and enjoyed the view. )

As much custom work as he's done to that thing I'd be completely unsurprised to find a custom-supercharged Porsche motor with 4:11 gears and a six-speed in there.

11 is not too bad. I have a 3050 dry weight one and my truck gets 10 on a bad trip and 13 or so on a good trip. Thats the 2.7 though

11.1 is pretty good. Weight isn't the biggest factor in the mileage with this camper. It's the high profile of the trailer. I have a similar setup (front popout hybrid camper) and rarely crack 10 mpg. Nice rig.

To anyone installing a brake controller....the pig tail is tucked WAY up under the dash. I dropped the lower dash ( 2x10mm bolts ) and it was super easy then. I spent 20-30 min trying to locate it from the bottom. Just my 2 cents.
