2 Yards of wet loam is too much.

Stay away from gravel, then. It's about the same.

Seems like a good quality product. I just installed a trailer brake for my next outing.... hoping to feel a nice difference in the ride.

I don't have to go too far to get to the river but I still think I want to add a tranny cooler for the AT. The fishing boat stays in the water at a dock for the season so it's really only the jet sprint boat that gets towed back and forth.

Trans temps and mileage was about the same with no trailer according to the Ultragauge. We get to move her 1200 miles in July to Phoenix. Ugh! Going to go with larger trailer but try to stay with a low profile as this really seemed to help. I have towed taller trailers and I think the wind resistance really kills the mileage.

Morning, all. Happy Tuesday after a long weekend...
    :goingcrazy:

Got the boat out yesterday for a cruise around on Flagstaff. Didn't have much for sun, and had a bit of chop, but she handled it like a champ.
Only got one decent shot, though.

Picking up our new trailer tomorrow morning!

    2018 Forest River Evo, 20ft, 3000lbs dry.

Using a WD hitch, and electronic brake controller to tow. Also have extended tow mirrors on order, Ultraguage to watch tranny temps, and a Derale transmission cooler as well.

Curious to see how the truck will pull it being lifted on 33's

Depending on how many miles your truck has on it, I'd check the condition of your brake pads/rotors and shoes/hardware to make sure everything is in good shape before you load up for a big trip. Tranny flush would be optional as well, again depending on the age of the fluid. But neither are strictly necessary for that sort of weight. :notsure:

Shouldn't the camper have the 'sold' sticker on it? Or did you buy the girl and she came with a free camper?

They get more expensive the longer you have them, lol.

Hows the truck do with 33s? My camper is the same specs roughly the same specs and I want to make sure I can still tow if I go to 33s.

Gonna find out next weekend. I'm picking it up Saturday, but then have a wedding to be at the rest of the weekend. I'll let you know how it does after our maiden voyage

Ill bet your fine, even with the 33's. I just got this camper, its 1000lbs heavier than yours. Pull no problem with WDB's in 4th gear. Scanguard told me trans was around 180 on the highway. I did hit 230 for a very short time driving trough town, up hills and it was about 88 degrees. I was surprised how quick the trans temps drop once you are at speed on the highway. I have the B&M super cooler and stock sized tires.

This seems like a good size for these trucks. Wouldn't want to go much larger

Awesome! I'm confident it should do fine. Just going over the Sierra's is a little nerve wrenching, got some long and steep climbs! Just gonna have to take my time and go slow.

Well, took the maiden voyage with our boat today. Got the truck up to about 65 while it was attached. No issues at all, but there isn't much elevation change and we can't be more than 1,000 ft above sea level, if we were in a more hilly area I'd be a bit more worried. I could definitely feel the weight while both accelerating and braking. At this weight I think the truck is really just about to the end of my comfort zone. An

I was extremely happy with my suspension setup. For those of you looking to make this truck handle weight the way a truck should, that is, with a little bit of rake and a level body when loaded up, then I really would have to recommend a similar setup. I have other posts outlining the details, so feel free to check them out. The suspension really was necessary to make this truck handle the towing, tongue weight and payload that it is rated for. The stock stuff just couldn't cut it. You'll notice in the photos that the truck is almost perfectly level while loaded up with whatever tongue weight this boat provides. I'll have to weigh it soon, because at this point I have no clue what it clocks in at.
